A Strictly Come Dancing star’s fans are going to spend the entirety of the most anticipated film of the year ‘on the look out’ for her small role.
To the surprise of her Instagram followers, Karen Hauer, 42, has revealed she performs a ‘tiny bit of dancing’ in blockbuster Wicked, a prequel of the Wizard of Oz.
The professional dancer had not previously disclosed her role in the film, which follows the unlikely friendship of wicked witch Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and good witch Glinda (Ariana Grande).
However, Karen’s fans were elated by her involvement in Wicked with @shortfilmsunday exclaiming: ‘what a lovely surprise! so excited to be on the look out for you!’
Echoing their sentiment, @vikki_kukiko said: ‘I will now spend the entire movie trying to spot you.’
@shirleighshirlz added: ‘See now I’m gonna be playing a game of Spot Karen when I watch.’

@alexandriastylist enthused: ‘Wow this is amazing.’
Alongside a carousel of pictures of her in hair and make up for Wicked, and with friends outside a cinema, Karen wrote on social media: ‘Had a “Wicked” experience doing a tiny bit of dancing in this magnificent movie. 🎥 @jasongilkison and I had an absolute blast !!
‘Thanks to @chrislxd for letting us have a little go 💫 We were like two toddlers in a candy shop 🤣.
‘Can’t wait to watch the movie tonight.’

Karen is not the only Strictly star taking Hollywood by storm.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Johannes Radebe’s life story was being made into an ‘uplifting’ family film.
The popular dancer, who first found fame abroad on the hit BBC dancing show after joining in 2018, released his memoir JoJo: Finally Home in 2023.
Johannes, who is from South Africa, scored a best-seller with the book, and his own writing will be adapted to form the basis of the upcoming movie, which friends have called ‘an inspiration’.

The 37-year-old – who is gay – battled homophobia, bullying and poverty to make a name for himself on the ballroom scene, first winning amateur and professional championships in his home country before joining its version of Strictly in 2014 and popular touring stage show Burn The Floor.
With a working title of Finally Home, Johannes will also serve as executive producer and choreographer for the film, which was first announced by Deadline.
Karen was on the professional dancing line-up for Strictly this year and was paired with Paul Merson.
However, last month they became the fourth couple to be eliminated from the competition after landing in the dreaded dance-off.
Strictly continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday at 7.05pm.
