Viewers have thrown their support behind Javier Bardem being cast in a remake of a hit 90s movie.
The 1957 novel The Executioners was turned into the movie Cape Fear in 1962, which was then remade in 1991.
That film starred Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, Joe Don Baker, and Juliette Lewis.
It followed the story of convicted violent rapist Max Cady (Robert) who used his newfound knowledge of the law and its numerous loopholes to seek vengeance against a former public defender whom he blames for his 14-year imprisonment.
The remake was also a critical and commercial success, being nominated for several Oscars and Golden Globe Awards.
It’s now been announced the story will be returning to screens again, this time for a TV show to air on Apple TV Plus.

Although the show was first reported to be in development last year, it’s now been confirmed Javier, 55, will star.
The Spanish actor is best known for appearing in No Country for Old Men, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, the Dune movie franchise and most recently, in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
The synopsis for the 10-episode series teases: ‘A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Amanda and Steve Bowden when Max Cady, a notorious killer from their past, gets out of prison.’
It will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese too.
Since the news was revealed, fans of the movies have weighed in on the casting choice.
