Jon Richardson has spoken out his relationship status after his highly publicised divorce from Lucy Beaumont.

The pair confirmed earlier this year that their relationship had come to an end after nine years of marriage.

It was recently reported that 8 out of 10 Cats star Jon, 42, agreed to a seven-figure payout from Hullraisers writer Lucy, 41.

In June, Lucy stepped down as a director of their company, This Guy At Night Limited.

Speaking on stage on Sunday during a comedy gig for Absolute Radio at the London Palladium, Jon shared with fans that he’s still single.

Jon came on stage after Judi Love’s stand-up routine in which she discussed her dating life, prompting Jon to remark: ‘It makes me think I’m so happy being single.’

Later in the show, Jon joked that he was glad that he no longer had to run the tap when using the toilet in hotel rooms to be polite, now that he’s single, according to The Sun

The event was held for the The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Charity, and comedians including Judi, Dara O’Briain and Josh Widdicombe also made appearances.

Fans were shocked when Jon and Lucy first announced their split in April of this year.

They were married in 2015 after being set up by a fellow comedian and mutual friend, After Life’s Roisin Conaty, and were very much in the public eye in the years that followed.

Lucy has previously spoken out about the split, telling OK! Magazine: ‘People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won’t, and not because there’s any animosity,’ Lucy explained.

‘We both agreed that while it might be weird for other people not hearing anything about it, we wouldn’t talk about anything to do with the marriage or each other.’

The couple’s relationship was well-known to the public, largely due to their comedic collaborations, including the popular TV show Meet The Richardsons, which showed the world their married life.

They announced the news of their separation with a statement that read: ‘After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated.

‘We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.

‘As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment.’

Jon and Lucy welcomed their daughter Elsie, 7, in 2016, who they remain committed to co-parenting.
