Tulisa Contostavlos told her I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! campmates that her life ‘fell apart’ after she was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs in 2013.
The charges against the N-Dubz star, 36, were later dismissed after prosecution witness, known as the ‘fake sheikh’, former journalist Mazher Mahmood was found guilty of tampering with evidence, during her 2014 trial.
‘2013 was the year I was set up by a British newspaper, for concern in the selling of class A drugs,’ Tulisa, who yesterday came out as demisexual, told fellow campmate, Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse.
‘The guy’s name was Mahmood and basically, I was approached by a big movie company and they sent me a tweet or a DM from their official account to audition me for a movie role…
“I’d dabbled in acting, so this opportunity for me was huge.”
Tulisa said the role was offering £3.5million and she was flown out for meetings with producers in Las Vegas with ‘first class flights, limousines (and) five star hotels’.
‘I found out it was a lie,’ she told the Dancing On Ice judge.

‘So I was told, because I wasn’t an actress, I was less likely to get the role and the only reason I would get it is if I was the girl in the role, and the girl in the role was this bad girl from London who was constantly up to naughtiness, rolling with gangs, up to all kinds of naughty stuff.’
‘I went in and I started talking crazy nonsense, and this went on for months,’ she said.
Tulisa said ‘they had me dangling on the end of a string’, claiming every time she met with the team they’d tell her ‘we need some drugs’.
‘After months and months, eventually they got a number and it was of someone that wasn’t even a drug dealer, it was an aspiring movie producer and I wanted to make a hook up as well for that person, but I didn’t know anyone that could do that,’ she said.

‘The long story short is they ended up ordering £800 worth of cocaine from the number that I had given them.
‘Then before I knew it, I was being arrested in the concern of the selling of Class A drugs and I was facing four years in prison.’
Tulisa revealed she lost ‘all my endorsements’ over the incident.
‘Overnight, my whole life fell apart,’ she said.
The Young hitmaker continued: ‘When it came to the trial, I’d had a conversation with one of their drivers, I was being recorded but I didn’t know, I was saying how anti-drugs I am, so they were very aware of my feelings towards drugs.’

Tulisa said the driver initially gave a statement confirming she was anti-drugs, before changing it.
Reacting to the story, Oti said: ‘I feel really sorry for Tulisa that she’s had to go through so much.’
‘You could see there’s a strength in her, just an amazing woman, that every time you knock her down, she’s going to come back fighting.’
‘It was insane… it’s a lot,’ Tulisa said.

Tulisa was arrested by police in 2013 on suspicion of supplying class A drugs, after two properties were searched as part of an investigation.
She was formerly charged in December that year, and later appeared in court where she denied being involved with the supply of 13.9 grams of cocaine.
She was granted unconditional bail and a trial date was set for July 2014, however, the case was thrown out as the judge believed prosecution witness and undercover journalist Mahmood had lied to the court – he was later jailed for 15 months for tampering with evidence in the collapsed drugs trial.
After the case was dismissed, Tulisa said: ‘I have never dealt drugs and never been involved in taking or dealing cocaine.
‘Mahmood has now been exposed by my lawyers openly lying to the judge and jury. These lies were told to stop crucial evidence going before the jury.’
She also claimed she had been ‘tricked’ into thinking she was auditioning for a Hollywood role and was encouraged to ‘act the part of a bad, rough, ghetto girl,’ continuing: ‘They recorded this and produced it as evidence when I thought it was an audition. It was a terrible thing to do.
‘Thankfully, the lies have been uncovered and justice has been done.’
I’m A Celebrity airs at 9pm on ITV1.
