Destiny’s Child had the sweetest reunion in New York as Beyonce and Kelly Rowland championed Michelle Williams’ new Broadway show – Death Becomes Her.

The Grammy-winning singer, 45, plays Viola Van Horn in the musical comedy – based on the 1992 movie – opposite theatre stars Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard and Christopher Sieber.

The show opened at Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on November 21 and has already received rave reviews calling it a ‘dazzling Broadway rebirth’, ‘fabulous’ and ‘stunning’.

And Michelle had plenty of love emanating from the crowd.

Her former Destiny’s Child co-stars Beyonce and Kelly, both 43, made the opening night trip to watch Williams’ conquer the stage. Tina Knowles was also in the audience.

Beyonce uploaded a series of photos and videos to Instagram from the special night to the backing track of Cowboy Carter’s II Most Wanted.

The trio looked delighted to be reunited, with one photo showing them crowded together with the playbill in Beyonce’s hand.

Another backstage snap showed Kelly, dressed in a stunning burgundy gown, and Beyonce, dressed in a grey body suit and knee high boots with a white blazer.

The pair were hugging Michelle who was still suited up in a sparkling silver-sequined dress.

The Break My Soul hitmaker did not pair the heartfelt collage of snaps and clips with a caption but there was plenty of excitement in the comments for the impromptu reunion.

‘I try not to cry too early in the day BUT……. My sisters 4ever!’ Williams commented under the emotional post, per Billboard.

‘My babies,’ @oloni commented on Instagram with a string of heart emojis.

‘THEY WERE (ARE) SISTERSSSSS!!!!!!!!!’ @moneydragonTV echoed.

‘My eyes are quite misty. Ain’t nothing like sisterhood,’ @breshawebb added. ‘I love how y’all love each other. The sisterhood is so beautiful!’ @adibanelson agreed.

‘I love seeing you and kelly be so supportive to michelle , love yall’ @dimondmichelle_ praised. ‘This is a true sisterhood. They’re always showing up for each other,’ @will.ruckerv shared.

Elsewhere, Kelly took to her Instagram story after to celebrate Michelle, writing: ”Cheers on a SENSATIONAL premiere night! We are all SO PROUD OF YOU!!’

And the reviews reflect the praise.

‘Williams brings a sexy iciness as Viola and delivers the power notes from the dark side,’ Variety wrote.

The New York Times echoed: ‘As Viola, Michelle Williams, in spectacular gowns by Paul Tazewell, is something of an amethyst geode herself: sparkly, spiky, glassy, mystical.’

Destiny’s Child dropped their final album, Destiny Fulfilled, twenty years ago before parting ways in 2006. The girl group topped the charts with hits such as Survivor, Independent Women and Bootylicious.

But their bond is as strong as ever and they have reunited plenty of times over the years including an epic Super Bowl performance in 2013.

Most recently, in January 2024, the trio got back together 50th birthday party celebrations of Kelly’s husband, Tim Weatherspoon.

And before that in November 2023, Bey was joined by her former bandmates at the premiere of her Renaissance concert film in LA.
