Judd Nelson, best known for his role in the 1985 classic The Breakfast Club, was spotted out and about in Los Angeles.

The 64-year-old actor played John Bender, a rule-breaker whose good side shines through by the end of the film, opposite Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall.

He was spotted wearing a casual get up with blue jeans, a grey top and navy vest jacket, as well as a pair of glasses.

The screenstar – who won an MTV movie and TV award for his Breakfast Club role is not often seen in public but has maintained a career (away from big Hollywood projects) over the years.

In the 80s he also appeared inThe Transformers: The Movie as the voice of Rodimus Prime and From The Hip.

In more recent years he has popped up in a range of genres, TV shows and movies including the star-studded 2018 movie, Billionaire Boys Club.

He played Dash Donnelly in TV movie rom-com The Engagement Plan, as Daniel Brayer in horror movie Dante’s hotel and as Marcus Rainsford in festive romp, Save Christmas.

The actor even has two upcoming projects including 2024 thriller The Final Run opposite Jeff Fahey and new dram In-Security which is currently in production.

He is notably absent from Hulu’s new documentary Brats which checks back in with the string of 80s actors who starred in the major coming-of-age films from the era.

It’s directed by and based off the memoir of St Elmo’s Fire star Andrew McCarthy who spoke about why Molly and Judd didn’t appear in it.

According to an interview in Entertainment Tonight both actors declined Andrew’s request.

‘I mean, they both are in the film in a sense that there’s a lot of clips and interviews and things,’ the Pretty in Pink star said.

‘The Brat Pack is an ongoing relationship, you know what I mean? And some people are at different places in their lives to want to or not want to talk about it. I think that just informs it even more. I mean, that’s my takeaway from it,’ he added.

Although in another interview on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live, he claimed that Judd had initially shown some interest.

‘When I called Judd up, he was the most excited of anyone … and he just launched in about all the Brat Pack.’

McCarthy added, ‘And that’s when I said to him, which is in the movie, you know, “Don’t tell me now. I want to get this all on film. Just slow down, Judd. I’ll come to LA, and we’ll sit down.”‘

But his cameo never materialised.

Meanwhile, Molly, 56, made headlines earlier this year when she opened up about having to deal with ‘predators’ in Hollywood from a young age.

On the WTF with Marc Maron podcast she said she was ‘definitely in questionable situations’.

She then added: ‘But I do have an incredible survival instinct and a pretty big superego and kind of managed to figure out a way to protect myself. But it can be harrowing.’
