Peaky Blinders actor Paul Anderson has shared his eye-catching new haircut which has made fans worried his movie role is in peril.
The 46-year-old actor is best known for his role as Arthur Shelby in the hit BBC show opposite Cillian Murphy as series lead (and Arthur’s brother) Tommy Shelby.
The screenstar raised concern among fans earlier this year when he was spotted looking quite dishevelled and rundown, just weeks after he pleaded guilty to crack cocaine possession.
He later reassured people he was simply ‘flattened by the flu’ on his social media. A few months later, the star uploaded a video to Instagram opening up about his ‘struggle’.
He continued: ‘Take it from me, I have struggled, and I struggle today, the same way you do, and we deal with it. If I can help you deal with your struggles, then let’s do it together…’
Now, he is facing flack once more after showing off his new bleached blonde haircut and most of the back of his head shaved off, with the hair appearing in an uneven line. And some patches still remaining.

‘New chop…. Front cover ”game” COME ON!!’ he wrote in the caption to his over 800k followers.
Although there was some criticism of the style of the cut in the comments, mainly fans were concerned this was all but confirmation that he would not be appearing in the new Peaky Blinders movie, titled The Immortal Man.
Although the main series wrapped with its sixth season in 2022, the cast is now returning for a Netflix feature film with additional stars such as Irish actor Barry Keoghan as part of the plot set in 1940s Birmingham.
It’s yet to be confirmed if his fan-favourite character will be returning despite the fact that filming is now well underway.
The new haircut, however, does not bode well from the perspective of some followers.
‘That isn’t no Arthur trim. You’ve either finished filming or you’re not in it? I hope it’s not the latter big guy?’ @martinlettin wrote on Instagram.
‘Literally fell to my knees. He’s not in the movie, is he?’ @bakedashboy speculated.
‘I hope this doesn’t mean you aren’t in the Blinders movie. Or that you have a quick exit,’ @sujieball added.
‘If you’re not in the peaky film mate I ain’t watching it,’ @amar_87_a shared.

After the actor had admitted to possessing class A drug crack cocaine, class B amphetamines and two class C prescription substances, he was fined £1,345.
In court his lawyer reportedly claimed his client had not been smoking crack cocaine, adding: ‘You will recognise the defendant from a very intense part that he has played in a recent television programme.
‘He is often recognised and does his best to please fans of the show by slipping into character.
‘He was recognised that Boxing Day and tried to play up for these people – and because of the lifestyle he leads, people often give him inducements.’
As for the Peaky Blinder’s movie, whether or not Arthur is present, the movie is promised to be ‘explosive’.
Cillian told Netflix: ‘It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.’
The rest of the cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle and more.
Peaky Blinders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. There is currently no release date for the movie.
