Days of Our Lives and Dynasty star Wayne Northrop has died at age 77-Laura Harman-Entertainment – Metro
The actor has battled Alzheimer’s disease for the past six years.

Wayne Northrop, best known for his roles in Dynasty and Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 77 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Northrop’s wife, ‘General Hospital’ actress Lynn Herring Northrop, 66 announced his death in a statement: ‘Wayne was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s six years ago.
‘He took his last breath in the arms of his family. We wish to thank the most caring and amazing place, The Motion Picture and Television Home for taking such great care of him.
‘Wayne touched so many people with his sense of humour and wit. A husband for 43 years, the best dad ever to his two boys, Hank and Grady, and a rancher who loved his cows and was a friend to many,’ she said in a statement shared with Deadline.
The late actor was best known as Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives. the character was introduced in 1981 and he stayed in the role until 1984. He returned to the role again from 1991 until 1994.
In 2005 he returned to Days of Our Lives as a new character, Dr Alex North, a role he stayed in for a year.

The actor’s other major roles included playing the chauffeur Michael Culhane on the ABC soap Dynasty.
He also played Rex Stanton on the General Hospital spin-off, Port Charles from 1997 to 1998.
Northrop was passionate about wildlife conservation and purchased a working cattle ranch with his wife Lynn in the 80s.

The couple also purchased and converted the oldest house in Raymond, California and converted it into a museum that is on the registry of historical places.
The actor is survived by his wife and two sons Hank, 33, and Grady, 31.
The news of Northrop’s death comes just a few weeks after Drake Hogestyn died aged 70 after ‘putting up an unbelievable fight’.
