This year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been caught up in chaos due to intense flooding.
As a result, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were unable to reach set, throwing the weekend’s episodes into uncertainty as their live links were almost scrapped.
Appearing on spin-off programme I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked after Saturday night’s show, the Geordie duo explained how the ‘biblical’ rain saw them confined to their hotels.
The next Bushtucker Trial was also delayed, with producers assessing what can be done to ensure it can go ahead safely.
‘We’ve had a very dramatic morning,’ Dec told host Joel Dommett.
Ant continued: ‘We all got texts saying that the rain was so bad, you might not even make it in today.’

‘Well, my text was from Joel Dommett. I woke up this morning, the first message on my phone was him going, “This is so exciting!”,’ Dec joked.
‘Everybody was stopped from coming on site because the rain was so bad. He’d been stuck in a car.’
Joel explained: ‘I left my hotel and my wife’s here, and she doesn’t trust me with the key, so I left the hotel without a key, and then I got the text saying, “You’re not coming in for a bit.” So I just sat outside my hotel for about two hours in the rain, just hanging out.’
Ant recalled that the weather has only been this bad ‘once before’, with the show having aired for over two decades since launching in 2002.
‘We nearly all got trapped on site and a lot of people couldn’t leave for ages.’
Co-presenter Kemi Rodgers pointed out that the sun had started shining, which must have left viewers wondering what all the fuss was about.
‘It was biblical during the night,’ Dec insisted.

‘It was a bit of an effort to get the show on air today. So few people were here.’
Joel noted that ‘this is the worst it’s ever been in 20 years’, with Ant saying: ‘The trial has been delayed because of the weather, so we’ll be here for a lot longer today.’
‘We have to make sure that the trial that was scheduled is doable in the area that it was. Everything’s a bit up in the air,’ Dec said.
Joel chimed in: ‘This is the exciting part of this show. People don’t necessarily understand how much this show is more than what you see on telly. There’s an entire infrastructure of stuff like trying to stay together.’
Ant added that their set has also been physically destroyed due to wind and rain.
‘Things have blown down in the night. There’s a tent out the back there where friends and family come and guests on the ITV2 show stay before they come on, and that’s all blown away. It’s been pretty tough.’
For a visual of just how wild the rain has been, Ruth Langsford shared a clip to her Instagram Story as she travelled to set this morning.

The Loose Woman flew out to Australia to support co-star Jane Moore, who was the first campmate eliminated on Friday, and also to appear as a panellist on the spin-off show.
Filming from her car as she was driven to site, the broadcaster showed her followers how the vehicle was submerged in muddy water, writing: ‘Interesting drive into camp this morning!!!’
Indeed, parts of Oz have fallen victim to extreme weather this week, with storms still set to cause havoc over the coming days.
Morgan Pumpa from the Bureau of Meteorology said on Friday: ‘We do have quite a large area of thunderstorm activity today stretching out across many states.’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
