Coleen Rooney has won yet another battle against Rebekah Vardy while competing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

This time it didn’t require an expensive legal battle, instead, Coleen was just required to be herself on the ITV reality show.

After entertaining the public with her calm demeanor on Bushtucker trials and fun anecdotes about life as a Rooney, Coleen, 38, has earned enough votes to escape elimination three times. Jane Moore, Dean McCullough, and Tulisa have all now packed their rucksacks, leaving Coleen and eight other celebrities to continue on with the popularity contest.

This means that Coleen has officially outlasted 42-year-old Rebekah’s length of stay. She was the third star to be eliminated in 2017, but Coleen has now been saved by the general public at the same juncture in an ultimate blow.

Not only that, but Coleen looks set to do more than just win the battle by slim margins. The latest odds have her as favourite to win the whole show – BetMGM has her at 5/4 to be queen of the jungle, after long-term favourite Danny Jones drifted to 7/4.

After Coleen suspected someone was leaking stories about her private life to The Sun, she launched her own investigation. Over a series of months, Coleen posted Instagram stories with fake news about her life, and allowed only one account to see them. It was……. Rebekah Vardy’s account.

Coleen then posted the findings on social media (with the above five words as her conclusion), and her commitment to discovering the truth earned her the ‘Wagatha Christie’ title. Coleen is married to footballer Wayne Rooney, while Rebekah wed Jamie Vardy in 2016. Sometimes women who are married to the sports stars are given the title of WAGs (wives and girlfriend), and Agatha Christie wrote detective novels, so the nickname was born.

Rebekah tried to sue Coleen for libel in 2022 due to the viral Instagram post from 2019. However, a High Court judge found Coleen’s post to be ‘substantially true’. Rebekah was ordered to pay 90% of Coleen’s legal costs.

Since Coleen has embraced life down under, Rebekah hasn’t been able to resist taking some swipes. When the series began Rebekah said she was hoping to see Coleen chomp on ‘a penis or humble pie’ and claimed the star ‘likes to be the victim.’

As her court rival continued to progress, Rebekah said she has lost weight as it’s ‘all been too much’.

‘I’m on the stress diet,’ she told Closer Magazine at the VIP launch of Winter Wonderland.

‘It’s all been too much with everything going on at the moment.’ She has also spoken out against claims she bullied comedian Iain Lee while they both competed on I’m A Celebrity.

After I’m A Celebrity, perhaps Dancing on Ice will be next on Coleen’s to do list. She’ll need to make it past the third elimination to beat Rebekah’s record.
