Zayn Malik cancelled his Newcastle show tonight just minutes before it was set to start.
The former One Directioner, 31, was set to take his Stairway to the Sky tour to the Newcastle City Hall venue on Tuesday night.
However, as fans anxiously waited for Zayn to come on stage, an announcement was made that the show was no longer happening a mere few minutes before curtain.
Fans were told: ‘The show will no longer go ahead tonight. We apologise for the late notice, it was his hope that he would be able to continue with the show. But this is no longer possible.
‘Please contact your point of purchase for reschedule or refunds. If you have parents or guardians collecting you, please stay in the auditorium and wait to be collected.’
In a post on Instagram, Zayn wrote: ‘I’m so sorry to do this but my voice just isn’t there at all tonight and without it there’s no show. I’m truly sorry to let you down, especially at such short notice…. I held onto hope until the very last moment. I’m hopeful with some rest tonight I’ll be back on stage tomorrow. My deepest apologies Newcastle love you all xx.’

The cancelation comes after the singer previously postponed the US leg of his first-ever solo tour following his former bandmate Liam Payne’s death.
Payne died aged 31 on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
His former bandmates Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan posted tributes to the singer online sharing their grief at the tragic news.
Dusk Til Dawn singer Malik wrote on his Instagram page: ‘Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the Stairway To The Sky tour.
‘The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days.
‘Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.’
The tour was set to begin on October 23 in San Francisco, California, before culminating on November 3 in New York.
Now, Malik has announced the new dates will be on January 21 2025 in Washington, January 24 and 25 in New York, Los Angeles on January 28 and 29, before Las Vegas on February 1, and San Francisco on February 3.
