Coleen Rooney proved herself to be an absolute boss woman in the face of fear as she kept her cool during a medical emergency in her latest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! trial.

The TV star has shown throughout the series that she’s not to be messed with, having not been afraid to get her hands dirty in Bushtucker Trials and get stuck in with camp chores.

In the latest grim task, though, the Wag, 38, had one of every celebrity’s worst fears upon signing up for the show come true – an insect inside her ear.

Consequently, medics had to be called in.

Down at the Bushtucker Trial clearing, Ant and Dec welcomed media personality Coleen, Danny Jones, GK Barry, and Reverend Richard Coles to the Arcade of Agony.

They were the first campmates to compete for a place in the epic Celebrity Cyclone trial, along with a spot in the grand final.

Each celeb was allocated a grabbing machine and every ball they won would contain several tickets they could deposit into the ticket collection box.

That sounds very straightforward, of course, but in true I’m A Celeb style, the challenge was anything but enjoyable.

As this was a Bushtucker Trial, they were joined by plenty of critters in their grab boxes and also had to rummage through piles of fish guts to retrieve coins for their machines.

Throughout the trial, bugs were dumped on their heads, including cockroaches, one of which seemed to take a fancy to Coleen.

As the klaxon sounded at the end of the trial, Coleen appeared from her grabbing booth shouting: ‘I’ve got one in my ear!’

A medic then rushed over to take a closer look before removing it with a syringe.

‘Oh my god, it just jumped out!’, exclaimed host Ant McPartlin.

Reacting to the drama, viewers took to X, with user official_emma_b writing: ‘ERRRUH THAT CRAWLED OUT COLEEN’S EAR’.

‘Coleen wasn’t even bothered by the bug in her ear. Queen’, praised reploverlore.

danidelle23 echoed: ‘Coleen dealt with that bug in her ear like an absolute boss’.

Asking the question on everyone’s lips, nikkimol wrote: ‘How was Coleen so calm with that in her ear?!?!?!’

This was far from the first time a celebrity has had a critter get a little too close for comfort during a trial.

In 2022, England footballer and eventual Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott had a cockroach in her ear, which medics had to remove.

And who could forget 11 years ago when Olympian Fatima Whitbread got a cockroach stuck up her nose after being encased in a helmet surrounded by bugs?

But, thankfully, the discomfort was worth it for Coleen, who powered through like a trooper and found a star in one of the balls, contributing to a nice meal for camp.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
