Scott L. Schwartz, the wrestler best known for his work on the Ocean’s trilogy, has died from congestive heart failure.

Reps confirmed he died on November 26, aged 65, in his home in Los Angeles.

‘Those who know Scott personally associated him with being a jolly person, so full of life, a strong loving person, foodie and travel aficionado.

‘Scott truly loved life and everyone that he met along the way. When he wasn’t acting, wrestling or telling jokes he spent his time visiting children with cancer at children’s hospitals,’ a statement provided to Variety read.

George Clooney also provided a heartfelt statement in honour of his co-star, who played Bruiser in the hit heist series where he worked closely withClooney’s character Danny Ocean.

He starred in 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven, 2004’s Ocean’s Twelve and 2007’s Ocean’s Thirteen.

‘I’m sorry to hear that Scott is gone,’ Clooney said.

‘We did three films together and I’ve never been so gently punched. He was a gentle soul and he will be dearly missed.’

He was a prolific TV and film actor and stuntman – also affectionately known as ‘The Ultimate Bad Guy’ – with other screen cameos including Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Starsky & Hutch, Inventing Adam, 2002’s Spider-Man and his own Changing Hands feature.

On social media fans and friends also shared their condolences.

House of Cards star Rick Zahn praised Schwartz as a ‘good man’ and ‘terrific actor’ in an Instagram post.

He continued: ‘At 6’10”, Scott was one of the rare few I looked up to. But it wasn’t just because he was actually taller. It was because of his heart. He lived life with passion. And he adored his wife, Misty.

‘Scott has battled ill health these past couple of years. But with Misty at his side, Scott peacefully transitioned. The suffering is over.’

‘Goodbye to my friend Scott L Schwartz. A giant of a man only dwarfed by the size of his heart. Scott appeared Ocean’s 11, Buffy, Star Trek, and Charmed.

‘I wish to send his wife, children, and family my best wishes at this time. Thank you for the laughter buddy you’ll be missed,’ X user The Creative Bumblebee wrote.

Schwartz was born March 19, 1959 in Philadelphia and by 1979 had debuted as a professional wrestler under the name Giant David.

He turned his talents to Hollywood in 1990 where he enjoyed a three decade long career. His final credit on IMDb is for his role as Seth in 2021’s The Pizza Joint.

In 1999, he retired from wrestling for good to concentrate on his acting career, saying it was ‘in his blood’.

‘It was a tough decision, and in order to keep from returning to the ring, I sold most of my stuff on eBay.

‘I kept one suit just in case, and sometimes I get a part as a wrestler and I wear that stuff in a movie, and then after I get off the movie I feel like going back in the business,’ he told Slam Wrestling in 2006.

He was also known for his charitable work for children’s hospitals, setting up the Scott L. Schwartz Children’s Foundation following his sister’s death from lung cancer in 1998.

Schwartz is survived by his wife, Misty and children Angela and Adam.
