I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 has introduced a new twist just days before the final, and viewers are not happy.
Currently, eight celebrities remain in camp: Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, Oti Mabuse, Maura Higgins, Reverend Richard Coles, GK Barry, Alan Halsall, and Barry McGuigan.
In just a matter of days, one of them will be crowned the new King or Queen of the Jungle, but the road to the final looks a little different this year.
The show has come under fire for a ‘stupid’ twist that means the public no longer holds total power to decide who will reach the final or who will take part in the trial everyone wants to do: Celebrity Cyclone.
Campmates were made aware of the switch-up when Ant and Dec entered for the second time yesterday following Melvin Odoom’s elimination.
They revealed that over the next two days, the campmates would all be competing to win a ticket to Cyclone, which would guarantee the winner immunity from the next two vote-offs as well as a coveted place in the epic challenge.

Campmates were then split into two groups of four to partake in a trial at the Arcade of Agony. There would be two winners from each group that would go through to the final.
While the celebs were all up for the challenge, viewers slammed the new format, branding it ‘unnecessary’.
‘I hate this twist. No one should get immunity from being voted of and guaranteed a place in the final. It should be up to the public who the final four are. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it’, wrote X user asterinbryce.

HausOfDylan95 added: ‘This twist is absolutely stupid especially this close to the end’.
Agreeing, WhoPotterVian wrote: ‘Pretty convinced Ant and Dec are the only two people who are genuinely happy with this ticket to the cyclone twist.’
‘Not sure I’m looking this twist of competing for the cyclone… doesn’t that mean someone who could’ve been less likely in the final has a free pass’, posted katieamarsh.
Viewers are also now fearing that their favourite campmates are less likely to be safe.

‘Gutted because I was rooting for Rev Richard to make it to the final and I don’t think it’s gonna happen now because of this silly twist’, wrote oliviadwhich.
Many viewers even compared the twist to the recent civilian series of ITV’s Big Brother, where a ‘vault’ was introduced days before the final and housemates were essentially able to choose who was at risk of a backdoor elimination, meaning those with the fewest votes to win could have been safe.

Similarly, roscoeleebarnes raged that producers are ‘manipulating’ the beloved Cyclone task, while alexanderls3 suggested this marks ‘the start of the downfall of reality TV show’.
Following the Arcade of Agony games, Ant and Dec headed into camp during tonight’s episode to reveal the four who had made it through to the next round.
These campmates were Coleen, Maura, Oti, and Danny, who are now fighting it out for a ticket to the hilariously chaotic Cyclone.

Arguably the best part of the whole series, the trial sees celebs don capes as they slip and slide all over the place to try and secure stars for their last meal as a camp of four.
It’s the one we all look forward to every year, and it’s believed Celebrity Cyclone could be getting a spin-off of its own, as per reports.
‘A spin-off show for the Cyclone makes absolute sense, and across the industry, it has always been considered a TV hit in waiting,’ a source told The Sun
While the concept will not involve I’m A Celeb hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, it could feature members of the public, so keep your eyes peeled…
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
