Katie Price and Kerry Katona have announced that they’re going to be resurrecting their music careers by releasing a new single collaboration.

The former glamour model, 46, and TV personality, 44, both have a musical past, having entered Eurovision and having sung on a number one album.

And the pair are both starring in a musical pantomime adaptation of Cinderella, which will be playing throughout panto season in Northwich, Cheshire.

It was after a long day of rehearsals for the production that Katie and Kerry revealed their plans to release a new single at some point in the future.

Katie wrote on social media: ‘25 years of friendship and our first show together after the jungle. Me and Kerry have smashed box office sales. Wait for our new single.’

In a separate post, Kerry celebrated their ’25 years of friendship’ and teased that a debut single from the new duo would be ‘on its way’.

Despite their histories, the news has come as something of a surprise – the pair’s respective music careers both ended on a sour note in the 2000s.

Kerry initially hit the big time in the very early 2000s as part of the girl group Atomic Kitten, singing on their debut album Right Now.

However, after the group got off to something of a false start, Kerry left members Jenny Frost, Natasha Hamilton, and Liz McClarnon to pursue a different career.

But just as Kerry left, the group’s single Whole Again was released and became one of the biggest selling songs of the entire Noughties decade, while Right Now was re-released and sold millions.

She rejoined the group in the 2010s and toured briefly with them, but left in 2017 after becoming involved in a physical altercation with Natasha.

Katie’s singing career was much more brief, but she still hit major heights in the mid-2000s after marrying popstar and fellow I’m A Celeb contestant Peter Andre.

Her pop career began in earnest when she and Peter recorded a debut album together – Peter was having a pop revival of his own at the time.

Titled A Whole New World, it reached number 20 on the UK album charts and featured covers of romantic hits such as Endless Love, Islands in the Stream, and I’ve Had the Time of My Life.

The album had initially been recorded privately at home – with Peter wanting it to stay that way – but several songs were leaked onto the internet, prompting interest from Universal Music Group.

It was eventually certified Gold after selling 150,000 copies, but Katie and Peter were still dropped from Universal and divorced three years later.

Katie also made a bid to be the UK’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, but failed to qualify, with Javine’s song Touch My Fire chosen instead.

In 2010, Katie released the single Free to Love Again, but that failed to make the UK top 40 and looked to spell the end of her pop career.

But maybe in 2025, the time will be right for Katie and Kerry to pick up their microphones again and have a go at landing a number one.
