WWE NXT Deadline approaches with one of wrestling’s newest and most innovative matches.

From Hell In A Cell and WarGames to the Royal Rumble and TLC, there’s something exciting about seeing a unique twist being put on professional wrestling.

For NXT boss Shawn Michaels, that innovation is the Iron Survivor Challenge, which is back for a third year and combines elements of an Iron Man, Championship Scramble and TNA Wrestling’s King of the Mountain.

The bouts are frantic, entertaining and unpredictable, with the men’s and women’s winners getting a shot at their respective NXT Championship.

Although they are the undoubted focus of NXT Deadline, there’s more to get excited about too with Trick Williams defending his gold, and fans wondering if departing AEW star Penta El Zero Miedo could make his debut.

Here is everything you need to know about tomorrow’s huge show.

There is plenty of speculation from fans about the future of Penta El Zero Miedo after his departure from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) this week.

The supremely talented masked luchador has been removed from the online roster for WWE’s rival promotion, and he appears to be done with the company.

It’s not known for sure where he’ll end up next, but reports have suggested he and WWE are both interested in a move, although his tag partner Rey Fenix still being under contract to AEW makes things complicated.

Although nothing is even close to confirmed, a shock appearance at NXT isn’t out of the question – although ex-New Japan Pro Wrestling star Hikuleo could be more likely to appear this weekend.

What are the rules for Iron Survivor Challenge match?

The superstar with the most points at the end of the 25 minutes is named the Iron Survivor

When is WWE moving to Netflix?

WWE is switching over to Netflix from January 2025, and for UK fans that’ll be from the get-go on New Year’s Day.

The official move is the January 6 episode of Monday Night Raw (for US fans, that’s the only show heading to Netflix right now) – for us Brits, it’s a real game changer.
