Dynasty star Mark Withers has died aged 77.
The American actor was best known for his role on the 80s soap, where he played Ted Dinard, the ill-fated lover of Steven Carrington (who played by Al Corley) during the first season.
He then went on to appear in other series’ including Wonder Woman, Magnum P.I, The Dukes of Hazzard, Hart to Hart, Dallas, Matlock, The King of Queens and Fraiser.
In 2016 he also appeared in an episode of Stranger Things, in which he played Gary, who worked as a coroner in the fictional town of Hawkins.
Withers’ death was confirmed by his daughter, Jessie Withers, with his cause of death being pancreatic cancer.
Paying tribute to her father, she wrote: ‘He confronted his illness with the same strength and dignity he brought to his craft, creating a legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication, along with his remarkable ability to make every role unforgettable.

Withers began his career starring in a national campaign for McDonald’s and then starred in advertisements for other brans including Folger’s Coffee and American Airlines.
Other recent TV roles came in Criminal Minds, True Blood, Castle and Sense8.
Born in 1947 in Binghamton, New York, Withers studied acting and directing at California State University, Los Angeles, before getting his Master of Fine Arts at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
In addition to his daughter, he is also survived by wife Haiyan Liu Withers.
