It’s reportedly the most expensive animated series of all time, with the two seasons said to have cost $250 million to make (via Variety), but according to the fans, it is money well spent. The series has won four Emmy Awards, and was a number-one TV show on Netflix in 85 countries after its release, but what exactly is it all about?

Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Arcane: League of Legends is inspired by the League of Legends games. Rather than ostracise those who’ve never played, it appeals to both casual viewers and longtime fans with its animation, plot, well-rounded characters, and equal emphasis on emotion and action.

The episodes focus on sisters Vi and Jinx, voiced by Pitch Perfect’s Hailee Steinfeld and Sweetpea star Ella Purnell, and the origins of their rivalry. Jinx is an impulsive and manic criminal from the oppressed underground of Zaun, while Vi is an enforcer in the competing utopian Piltover, leading to a complicated relationship.

Act 3 of the second and final season was released on November 23, with fans calling the ending a ‘masterpiece’.

Travelers isn’t about a bunch of people who find themselves during a gap year in Asia, instead, the Canadian sci-fi show is centred on operatives who travel back in time. Their mission is to prevent the collapse of society after seeing the post-apocalyptic future.

They must go undetected by passing as seemingly normal people and only have their knowledge of history and an archive of social media profiles to figure out how to save humanity.
