A former model and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has taken to social media with a candid health update.

Sharing a new selfie, the TV star was vulnerable with fans as she showed the devastating reality of the stress-provoked angioedema, a skin condition she was diagnosed with last year.

Writing, ‘Sick it!’ along with a photo showing sinking in her cheeks, Brandi Glanville, 52, looked completely unrecognisable to her usual self.

The star, who appeared on Real Housewives in seasons two and five as well as The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, told fans she had been diagnosed last year.

NHS describes the incurable condition as swelling of the deeper layers of the skin caused by a build-up of fluid. It commonly affects the eyes, lips, genitals, hands, and feet.

Brandi has previously shared with fans a picture of when the condition causes swelling in her face, but this is the first time she has shown what it looks like when the swelling goes down.

In the selfie, she can be seen with a pair of glasses sitting on top of her head, holding back her blonde hair to reveal her sunken cheek.

In July when she opened up about her health, she told fans on X: ‘Stress will kill you. How is your wealth? Take care of yourself people, thank you Bravo. I couldn’t even work if I wanted to at this point.’

Brandi first revealed her diagnosis in August last year, and in January, she spoke to Entertainment Tonight, where she claimed her symptoms first started after co-star and the Real Housewives of New Jersey star Caroline Manzo made allegations of sexual misconduct toward her.

‘I’ve had some health issues that have affected my ability to talk,’ she told the news outlet.

‘My ability to taste food, my face basically would swell up, like I would have anaphylactic shock, go into anaphylactic shock constantly, and I saw seven doctors, and their answer to it was it was stress-induced angioedema.’

Brandi continued to say her experience with the illness has resulted in lip and face flare-ups, placing her into anaphylactic shock.

One flare-up was so bad that her son had to call the ambulance to get her urgent medical attention. It’s unclear whether she meant Mason, 21, or Jake, 17.

Recalling the terrifying moment, she said she was ‘on the phone with Andy Cohen’ and was given some ‘very disappointing news’ that was difficult for her to process.

‘The stress just, my eyes swelled shut, my hands [swelled],’ she explained. ‘I laid down before I fell down, but an ambulance came and I spent two days in the hospital, trying to figure out what’s wrong.’

‘It’s affected every aspect of my life,’ she said. ‘Everyone’s like, “You look great.” I’m like, “I don’t feel like I should feel, I don’t look the way I used to look.”‘
