I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans have been left questioning ITV’s duty of care towards this year’s campmates after a shocking revelation.

It’s no secret that the stars in the jungle live on just rice and beans for sustenance, and only secure full meals if they win stars during the bushtucker challenges.

2022 contestant Chris Moyles revealed he lost a stone and a half while on the show, while last year’s campmate Fred Sirieix said his ‘stomach shrunk’ after the bland diet.

Some celebrities have even secretly hoped there was real food waiting for them when cameras weren’t rolling.

But Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly recently revealed the true nature of what they get served, and it’s seriously minimal.

The presenters shared in a video on social media last month how much rice and beans each campmate gets per day, showing one small portion of each.

‘They really do rely on what they win in the trial,’ they explained.

‘It’s not a lot, is it?’ Ant said, adding: ‘How rank does that look.’

Fans were left shocked at the amount, after thinking it was a lot more.

‘Wow. I presumed they got that per meal, rather than per day,’ @jesscah22 said.

‘I wasn’t expecting it being not that much,’ @leisha_lang wrote, while @danny_241184 said: ‘That’s their evening meal. What do they do for breakfast and lunch???’

‘That’s actually insane, I can’t imagine how hungry they were yesterday,’ @ScottTHFC23 said.

@Littleman_Adam questioned: ‘Is there a duty of care that they aren’t getting their 5 a day of fruit or veg?’

‘How is that legal?’@DylanS99 also wrote.

‘Wow my little chihuahuas would eat more than that per day,’ @purringangie said.

I’m A Celebrity is now coming to an end, with Coleen Rooney, McFly’s Danny Jones and Reverend Richard Coles having made it to the final.

This year’s cast included Dean McCullough, Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse, N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, Barry McGuigan, Alan Halsall and Loose Women star Jane Moore.

Maura Higgins, Melvin Odoom and GK Barry completed the line-up.
