I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Coleen Rooney has revealed how she and her campmates were forced to sleep outside of the camp during an emergency evacuation.

Sunday night’s episode of the Australia-set reality TV competition saw the Wagatha Christie icon, 38, come in second place to McFly musician Danny Jones.

Danny, Coleen and Strictly star Reverend Richard Coles toughed out the likes of Oti Mabuse, Maura Higgins and GK Barry to complete all 23 days in the jungle – with Danny ultimately being crowned this year’s King of the jungle.

During an interview which covered her experience on the show, Coleen reflected on some of the highs and lows from this year’s competition.

And, as the weather went from bad to worse, one incident saw the camp evacuated, with the celebrities forced to seek shelter elsewhere.

This came amid a series of extreme storms in the Australian jungle – leaving nearby roads and fields submerged due to the heavy rainfall.

Speaking to The Mirror following her exit, Coleen revealed how she’d initially gotten off to a bad start due to caffeine and sugar withdrawals.

‘As it got better, the weather got worse. And then that was tough,’ she said.

She continued: ‘There was one night where we got all got woken up in the early hours in the morning to go into the Bush Telegraph because of a storm.

‘I was asleep in there, Alan was asleep. You think this isn’t what we thought the jungle would be.’

Elsewhere in the interview, she spoke of how she almost quit after a week because she missed her family so much.

‘In that first week, I did wake up one morning and I looked at the pillow and I saw on it obviously Wayne and the kids, and I had a little cry and I thought I don’t know whether I can go all this way,’ she said of the pillow she carried- emblazoned with the faces of husband Wayne Rooney and their sons.

‘I went off and did the washing up and collected the wood and did whatever I had to do. I just got on with it,’ she added.

And get on with it Coleen did – going on to score second place in the competition.

Reflecting on her experience during the finale, Coleen said: ‘It was hard at not keeping myself busy, I got bored in there, that’s something I never get, I never get bored, I’ve not got time, but it gave me time to think about me, and my strengths and weaknesses,’ she said, reflecting on her time in the camp.

‘It was a strange experience.’

She continued: ‘I’ve learnt that I can be patient, there’s been times in there that no one’s annoyed me but I wanted to step in and do it, but I’ve let it be, so I’m going to be a bit more patient when I get out of here.

‘But also, it’s okay to think about yourself.’

‘That’s news to me,’ said Coleen of the rumoured deal.

‘I haven’t got a clue. Apart from speaking to Wayne and my boys, I haven’t seen anything and I don’t intend to until I get back to the UK.’

She added: ‘I’m looking forward to Christmas and then in January I will sit down with my team and see what I’m going to do going forward.’
