I’m A Celebrity’s new King of the Jungle Danny Jones has left fans astonished and in hysterics with his post-jungle transformation.

The McFly singer and songwriter, 38, took the crown on Sunday night after beating Coleen Rooney, who finished as a more than worthy runner-up.

Danny took 55% of the vote to be crowned as the latest winner of the ITV series, and presenters Ant and Dec congratulated him on the achievement.

After leaving camp, the famous faces are treated to a swanky hotel as they return to the lives they left behind for three weeks on the reality show.

And as soon as Danny got back to his hotel in Australia, he immediately set about making a drastic change that had his Instagram followers in stitches.

In a series of pictures on Instagram, a shirtless Danny posed with a bottle of beer and decorated his room with a dozen gold and silver balloons.

Still in his camp hat and red shorts, he winked at the camera, sporting a brand new moustache he’d given himself as soon as he left camp.

As some of his followers pointed out – including campmate Dean McCullough – the moustache bore a striking resemblance to a certain Netflix star.

‘What in the Joe Exotic is going on here?’ Dean commented, laughing at Danny’s first major fashion choice after leaving the jungle as the winner.

Another viewer, @StaceBrewer, commented: I’ve just noticed the moustache. Hahahahahaha, I’m calling the police!’

Meanwhile, @AFireworkDaze joked that they’d be taking their votes back: ‘Mate what is that facial hair? Is it too late to retract my 5 votes? (I kid. Well done!!)’

Joe Exotic, 61, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado, ran the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, which was featured in the 2021 Netflix documentary series Tiger King.

The zoo owner was eventually sentenced to over 20 years in prison on attempted murder charges against his rival Carole Baskin, as well as several counts of animal abuse.

Joseph had previously run as an independent candidate in the 2016 US election and gained widespread fame on the internet after the release of Tiger King.

It’s not known if Danny was deliberately going for the Joe Exotic look, but it was still spotted as the instant comparison by his biggest fans.

Before he lifted the crown, Danny was spoken about with such love by his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher, in a brand new interview with Metro.

‘Danny’s been my best friend since we were 16 or 17. We’ve grown up with each other, so I’ve known for most my life that he is the most awesome human being I’ve ever met.’

He continued: ‘I love that now all of the campmates and everyone watching is getting to see that side of him as well.’
