I’m A Celebrity star Barry McGuigan has been left shocked by the amount of weight he lost in the jungle.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s beloved reality series has come to an end this year, with McFly singer Danny Jones being crowned King of the Jungle and Coleen Rooney finishing in second place.
They’ve begun their journeys home and reunited with the luxuries of proper showers and full meals, and will share what it was like coming out of the camp in a follow up programme airing on Friday night.
In previous years, it’s been revealed the celebrities taking part have lost a shocking amount of weight during their time in the jungle, with 2022 contestant Chris Moyles saying he lost a stone and a half while on the show, while last year’s campmate Fred Sirieix said his ‘stomach shrunk’ after the bland diet.
Loose Women panellist Jane Moore, who was the first eliminated contestant and left camp after 15 days, also recently revealed she went down from 10st 3lb to 9st 7lb and her clothes were ‘hanging off’ her.
Boxing legend Barry has now shared he lost 7 kilos, and joked he’s ‘back down to championship weight’.

After becoming the fifth contestant eliminated (alongside former Love Island star Maura Higgins), Barry was surprised by the weigh in.
He quips: ‘Good god, that’s 15 and a half pounds – back down to championship weight.’
Upon returning to the hotel the celebrities all stay in after leaving the jungle, he tucks into a full English and jokes: ‘Sorry, I’m not going to share it with you. It tastes amazing.’
And he wasn’t the only one, as the reunion episode reveals Melvin Odoom couldn’t even wait to get back to the hotel.

On the way, he stops off at a fast food restaurant to order a BBQ cheeseburger, 6 chicken nuggets and some fries, and says, while eating his cheeseburger: ‘That’s the best burger I’ve ever had.’
After leaving the jungle, Barry had an emotional reunion with his wife, and spoke about how tough the experience had been for him.
In one episode, the 63-year-old was supported by his co-stars as he bravely opened up about the death of his daughter Danika, who died in 2019 at the age of 33.
She had first been diagnosed with leukaemia when she was 11 years old, and was diagnosed a second time after suffering from pains in her stomach.
Breaking down into tears, he struggled to talk about Danika’s second diagnosis, as his campmates supported him.

Tulisa told him: ‘You’re a man going through pain, and you’re vulnerable about it, and that takes strength. There’s no rules to grieving, Barry.’
She added: ‘It’s an extension of your love that you’re holding on to these memories, that doesn’t mean you’re weak, it means, “This is how much I love my daughter, and I’m grieving.”‘
After meeting his wife in scenes filmed for the Coming Out show, Barry says: ‘It’s the first time I’ve been away in a long time, I miss my child, I miss my girl, I know she would have loved it.’
Sandra adds: ‘She’d have been here.
This comes after viewers were left shocked by how little the celebrities actually get to eat, following a revelation from presenters Ant and Dec.

The campmates live off rice and beans for their three meals a day if they don’t win any stars in the bushtucker trials, with past contestants previously revealing they secretly hoped there was real food waiting for them when cameras weren’t rolling.
However, fans have been questioning ITV’s ‘duty of care’ after Ant and Dec revealed the true nature of how much they get to eat.
In a video on social media, shared as the season was airing, they showed the measly portions of rice and beans, explaining: ‘They really do rely on what they win in the trial.’
‘It’s not a lot, is it?’ Ant said, adding: ‘How rank does that look.’
I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Coming Out airs on Friday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
