Drew McIntyre launched an emotional and scathing attack on WWE fans before storming out of an interview.

The former world champion, whose nickname is the Scottish Warrior, was a guest during a live radio show when he got very real with the hosts and started opening up on his struggles away from the ring.

He recently returned to Raw after a much-needed break following a period where he felt like he was ‘giving’ in an industry that simply takes, while he’s missed funerals and been mourning the death of a close family member.

Drew was able to spend an extended period back home with his family for the first time in 17 years of wrestling, but he claimed very few of his co-workers checked in.

He ended up storming off set during the Busted Open Holiday Party, and shared the clip with the caption: ‘F**k you for making me do this.’

In the video, he ranted: ‘Tomorrow morning I’m still gonna be out there helping the homeless, things that really mean something to me.

‘But when it comes to Drew McIntyre on TV, Drew McIntyre in general, I really hate to say this ‘cause I didn’t believe it [until] I saw the proof right in front of my face, the lack of contact, and the look in my family’s face, and realising everything that I’ve missed, that I’m just gonna take from now on.

‘I’m gonna leave this industry, I won’t be one of those guys, when I was a kid in the locker room during the indies that were just chasing that last paycheck, just chasing that last shot at glory, “Please remember me.”

‘When I leave, when I retire, I’ll have accomplished everything. And it doesn’t matter if you’re Mark Henry, Bully Ray, Tommy Dreamer, Drew McIntyre, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

‘When you’re gone, they move on, they forget. And it sucks, but it’s true. So as far as I’m concerned, when it comes to the internet, I don’t give a f**k about your opinion.’

That was the moment he threw down the mic and walked off the stage, leaving the hosts stunned just before he returns to the ring at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

He’ll be facing Sami Zayn at the show, having targeted the Honorary Uce since his return earlier this month.

McIntyre previously warned that if fans see him cross the same lines on live WWE television, they know something has gone wrong.

‘If you see Drew McIntyre going off those lines, swearing and saying things like “wow, this is gonna potentially hurt himself or the company or the roster”, then it’s because I have lost it,’ he told Metro.

Over the years, he’s realised just how difficult wrestling is despite growing up a fan, but he added: ‘Thankfully I’m stubborn beyond belief and I just refuse to give up.’
