MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace ‘knows his time on the show is over’ amid an investigation into his alleged sexual misconduct.
After 20 years fronting the BBC cooking series, earlier this month it was announced Wallace was stepping aside.
It came after the BBC launched an investigation into historical allegations of misconduct against the 60-year-old, with the TV presenter being accused of making inappropriate sexual comments and groping several women.
Allegations made against him include that Wallace made ‘inappropriate sexual jokes’ and lewd comments on set, asking for the phone numbers of female members of production staff, and undressing in front of and standing ‘too close’ to women working on his shows.
He’s also been accused groping three people in different incidents, ‘mimicking sex acts’ and walking around a studio almost ‘completely naked’, with the claims coming from 13 people across several shows in a 17-year period.
Wallace and his lawyers have fiercely denied the allegations, saying ‘it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature’.

However, it’s now been reported he ‘expects to be sacked’ regardless.
‘Gregg’s conceded he has lost everything. To put it bluntly, he’s told people, “I’m f***ed”,’ a source told The Sun.
‘He came out swinging, but he has quietly conceded that he knows his time on MasterChef is over and that he will be stepping aside.
‘He has contested the sexual allegations and insisted any jokes he made were just jokes. He said he never meant to cause any offence.’
They added: ‘Gregg has been under a huge amount of pressure since the allegations came to light and tried his best to fight his corner.’

The source then said that as much as it ‘pained’ Wallace, he ‘knows the time will come when he has to step aside…it seems he has come to terms with it’.
Meanwhile a source told MailOnline Wallace told friends he ‘accepted his TV career is basically at an end’ and he was being ‘quite reflective and pragmatic’ about the investigation.
Although episodes of MasterChef: The Professionals continued in light of the allegations being made public, the BBC made the decision to shelve the two MasterChef Christmas specials.
Despite Wallace stepping down, it was recently reported MasterChef is set to continue for at least another four years.

However, a source has told MailOnline Wallace ‘is set to be wiped’ from the next season despite it already being filmed, with speculation already rife about a potential replacement.
Although the BBC has said the future of the show won’t be decided until the investigation concludes, a production insider has said the series is ‘salvageable’ as he and co-judge John Torode’s critiques were filmed separately.
This week John released a statement, sharing he would not comment further on the allegations while the investigation continues but ‘loved being part of MasterChef and would continue to be part of it’.
Despite their long-standing professional relationship, seven years ago John declared he and Wallace ‘aren’t really friends’.
Metro has contacted representatives for Gregg Wallace for comment.
