Amanda Abbington has reportedly turned down a large offer to take part in Celebrity Big Brother after her Strictly Come Dancing experience.
The Sherlock actress, 50, quit the dancing competition last year before making claims Giovanni Pernice had bullied her during rehearsals, which he denied.
The BBC launched an investigation into the 34-year-old dancer, upholding two moments of ‘inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace’.
While the Strictly investigation has ended, Amanda is said to be ‘traumatised’ by the experience and has rejected the chance to appear on the popular ITV show.
According to an insider, she has nothing against the rebooted show but is protecting herself from trolls after receiving hate online over the Giovanni complaints.
‘She couldn’t face going through all the trolling that she received when she complained about Giovanni which made her feel like public enemy number one,’ they told The Sun.

The source continued: ‘Of course, the fee for taking part would have been appreciated but she just couldn’t face it.
‘Amanda has absolutely nothing against Celebrity Big Brother, though. Indeed, she will be tuning in to watch the show next year, along with the rest of the country.’
Giovanni and Amanda were paired together on the 2023 Strictly series but withdrew early in week six after a cancer scare forced her to stop.
The Mr Selfridge actress previously told The Sun she was ‘relieved’, calling it the ‘catalyst’ she had been waiting for to pull out of the toxic situation.
The BBC apologised to Amanda and thanked her ‘for coming forward and taking part’ in an official statement.

The broadcaster’s probe into the matter upheld a number of the complaints against Giovanni – who has always rejected ‘any claim of threatening or abusive behaviour’ — while clearing him of the most serious allegations.
He also hit out at trolls who attacked Amanda with ‘disgusting’ messages, after her stage show was subjected to a bomb threat.
Lorraine Kelly asked the 34-year-old dancer if he feels sorry for anything when he appeared on her morning ITV show, to which he replied ‘the trolling.’
‘I think the trolling thing and the messages was disgusting,’ Giovanni said. ‘All these messages she received shouldn’t happen at all.’

In a statement, the BBC said: ‘We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made.
‘We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part. We know this would not have been an easy thing to do.’
The report found that some of the language used by Giovanni towards Amanda could be ‘belittling’ and agreed that his feedback was, at times, “overly negative’ and that he had used profanity during rehearsals.
After reviewing several hours of rehearsal footage as part of an official investigation there were two moments of ‘inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace’, which were found to have been ‘made and received as jokes’ between the pair.
Metro has reached out to Amanda’s reps for comment.
