Katy Perry called out hundreds of gig-goers who left her set at Madison Square Garden early on Friday night.

The Hot N Cold hitmaker, 40, seemingly thought it was the cold weather that had hoards of attendees leaving the 2024 Jingle Ball concert early.

‘Hi everyone. I know, I know, it’s crazy. It’s so late, it’s so cold outside. You had way too much sugar,’ she said.

‘You don’t know whether to stay or go, or be in or out, or hot or cold. Just make up your mind then!’

The 40-year-old pop star played to a star-studded crowd, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mckenna Grace, Martha Stewart, Jonathan Van Ness, Tan France, Daryl Sabara, Gracie Abrams, and James Charles.

Katy played 12 songs and the singer ended the night with fan-favourite Firework.

This comes after Katy’s big comeback, which didn’t go quite as expected with the release of Woman’s World causing a stir. Many have branded Katy’s lyrics and video cheesy and anti-feminist.

But the star doesn’t seem to be taking criticism too much to heart, as the Teenage Dream hitmaker recently told The Sun: ‘I guess I did step into what I call a “zero f**** 40”.

‘A therapist told me one day, ‘No one can make you feel something about yourself that you already don’t feel about yourself’.

‘So if someone says something about me that isn’t true, it doesn’t affect me because I know who I am now. I know myself better than ever.

‘I care a lot about the things that are worth caring about but if someone’s not being kind or saying untrue things, then it doesn’t really matter.’

Katy – who has four-year-old daughter Daisy with fiancé Orlando Bloom – also came under fire for teaming up with Dr Luke for her song, which is all about female empowerment.

This was seen as a problematic move, as Dr Luke, 50, was previously accused by Kesha of raping and drugging her as well as physical and verbal abuse, all of which he has denied.

When asked about the decision to work with him again on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Katy said: ‘I understand that it started a lot of conversations and he was one of many collaborators that I collaborated with.’

She continued to host Alex Cooper: ‘But the reality is, it comes from me. The truth is, I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through this metamorphosis, and he was one of the people to help facilitate all that.’

Addressing the song lyrics, Perry said she was ‘speaking from my own experience.’

She added: ‘When I speak about Woman’s World, I speak about feeling so empowered now, as a mother, as a woman … I created all of this with several different collaborators, people that I’ve collaborated with from the past, from Teenage Dream era. All of that.’
