Ed Sheeran has got a rival for the Christmas number one spot – and he is his doppelgänger.
The Shape of You star is vowing to be top of the charts on Christmas Day for the third time, but his lookalike, Ty Jones, is also aiming to take the festive crown after launching a charity single for the big day.
Ty, 29, who is the spitting double of the singer-songwriter who has sold more than £150million records, has even started to learn how to play guitar to give his song a better shot at the title.
The Sheeran-a-like, from Urmston, Manchester, is joining 11 other TikTok famous faces in their single – The Left Wing Wonderland.
He is hoping the politically charged festive jingle will trump the Grammy Award winner.
However Ed, is also vowing for the coveted Christmas crown after penning a song for the animated Netflix holiday film, That Christmas.

Set in Suffolk, the movie has been co-written by Richard Curtis will feature the singer’s track, called Under The Tree.
Earlier this week the popstar made a very exciting announcement, sharing that he has already recorded his next album and filmed two accompanying music videos.
Speaking about going head-to-head, Ty told Metro: ‘If we do win then there will be no hard feelings, but we will see who the better singer is… the public will decide!’
Earlier this year Ty and his lookalike sweetheart, Amanda, tied the knot after dating for two years.

Amanda, a mental health worker, used to joke she would marry the singer— and after dating his doppelgänger they finally shared their nuptials.
But Ty used to worry that his ginger roots weren’t helping him in his search for love and used to hold him back – how wrong could he have been.
The mum-of-five was introduced to Ty through friends who met him at a Sheeran gig, and just over a year later he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.
Ty, along with a host of other TikTok creators have joined forces to raise money for the elderly with their song, and their political take on the classic Winter Wonderland changes out the famous lyrics to reflect their left-leaning views, and pokes fun at what they call is the ‘madness of modern politics.’
Ty told Metro: ‘I’m not necessarily political but I’ve read about the heating crisis and I just wanted to do whatever I could.
‘It’s a tough enough time as it is, and I just wanted to help out and just want to do whatever we can.’

The group is raising money to help two charities, with the aim of helping to keep pensioners warm at Christmas.
Speaking about why he also wanted to raise money he said: ‘I used to work in a bingo hall, and people would go there for the heating, and that was before a cost-of-living. Now look at how bad things are, the elderly need people to look out for them, and it is the least we can do.’
They are raising funds for the Warwick Proud Welfare Care and Tanisha Bramwell’s Foodbank Appeal, supporting vulnerable pensioners with essentials like heating and food. So far they have raised more than £5,000.
It might be a close run-in, with the Jones household watching eagerly as the Christmas Number One is announced this Friday.
They will be listening in as the full Christmas Top 40 will be counted down on BBC Radio 1’s The Official Chart from 4pm.
Ty said: ‘I feel like we might be a bit late in the game, but next year you never know, this was all just going to be a bit of fun and now look at it, it has gone viral.
‘We will wait and see and I’ve always dreamt of having a Christmas number one, and lets just hope there is a bit of Christmas luck and we will see how it goes.’
