Madonna is a music icon who has reinvented herself time and time again in her career spanning five decades, and she’s just hinted she’s set to go back to one of her best eras.
While the artist has had incredible success throughout the years, the popularity of her albums peaked earlier in her career, with only a couple of hits reaching the number-one status in the UK in the past 19 years.
But things could be set to change as the 66-year-old singer revealed she is set to collaborate with an old friend who worked on one of her most iconic albums.
A caption of a post on Instagram revealed: ‘Working on new music with Stuart Price. these past few months has been medicine for my SOUL.
‘Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission.. I’m so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025! 🎄🎹🤶🏻’ she penned.
Stuart Price was a key collaborator on Madonna’s 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor which includes the lead single Hung Up and other hits Sorry, Get Together and Jump.
The album is the singer’s sixth-highest-ranking album and was even partially recorded at Price’s home in London.
Critics have commended the album and stated that it has influences of 1970s disco and 1980s electropop, as well as 2000s club music.

In the first week of its release worldwide, the album sold nearly four million copies and remains one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century.
The album spend two weeks in the number-one slot in the UK and 54 weeks in the top 100 albums.
The lead single, Hung Up, is one of the singer’s most popular songs and one of her 13 singles to make it to number on in the UK.
The song is the artist’s longest-running single on the Official Charts, racking up 40 weeks in the Top 100.

Madonna has released four albums since Confession on A Dance Floor, Hard Candy (2008), MDNA (2012), Rebel Heart (2015), and Madame X (2019).
While they have all been met with varying levels of success, particularly Hard Candy which is the singer’s tenth most popular album, none have gone on to replicate the success of this 2005 album.
That said, she has released popular singles since 2005 including Sorry (2006) and 4 Minutes (2008).
