Big Brother reveals major change ahead of 25th anniversary on ITV-Emily Bashforth-Entertainment – Metro

Big Brother is set for a huge shake-up ahead of its milestone next series on ITV.

The world-famous social experiment first aired on ITV last year after five years off screens, with previous hosts being Channel 5 and Channel 4 before that.

Since then, we’ve had three iconic series, with Jordan Sangha and Ali Bromley clinching victory in the civilian editions, while David Potts was the runaway star in Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year.

With a second edition of CBB already confirmed for 2025, it has now been confirmed that the series will take place in a brand-new location.

It’s believed Celebrity Big Brother will air from April 14 to May 2, with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best also returning.

However, the iconic house we’ve watched housemates laugh, cry, argue, and even kiss inside for the past two years will be no more.

Previously, Big Brother aired from Garden Studios in Harlesden in West London.

But it’s now been announced that the BB compound will be rebuilt elsewhere in London in time for spring.

When Big Brother first hit screens, it was based in Bow in East London.

It then moved to Elstree, Borehamwood, in 2002, where it remained until 2018 when it was demolished after Cameron Cole’s winning series.

The new house build will come just in time for a special milestone in BB’s history.

Next year, fans of the beloved reality series will celebrate its 25th anniversary, which will inevitably bring more explosive rows, high drama, emotional moments, and plenty of memes as a new batch of housemates enter the doors.

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Acquisitions at ITV, previously said: ‘Big Brother programming has firmly established itself across ITV’s platforms and become a favourite with our viewers.

‘Together, Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother have grown audiences on ITV1 and ITV2 and amassed almost 100million streams on ITVX.

‘We’re therefore very excited to be able to throw open the house doors once again for another series of both Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother in 2025, which are sure to promise more unmissable entertaining, and captivating moments.’

Katy Manley, Managing Director of Initial, added: ‘We are so excited to be coming back with more Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother. Both series have really resonated with audiences, and we can’t wait to make more.

‘As always, viewers can look forward to Big Brother keeping housemates – celebrities and civilians alike – on their toes.’

Along with BB’s return in a matter of months, Big Brother: Late & Live will also be back.

Helmed by AJ and Will, the spin-off show will continue giving viewers further insight into life inside the house, with a studio audience, plus a celebrity panel, on hand to discuss the biggest moments and give their verdict.

Late & Live will also remain the only place where viewers can watch evictees’ first interviews and will share exclusive clips not featured in the main episodes.

As for who will be next to enter the house, speculation is rife over the CBB lineup already, with the likes of Eamonn Holmes and Tommy Fury already rumoured to be housemates in the three-week stint.

Meanwhile, those who fancy following in the footsteps of Jordan, Ali, and previous winners such as Craig Phillips, Nadia Almada, Sophie Reade, and Brian Dowling are in luck.
