Bizarre footage has come to light showing Kanye West discussing his ‘mental geniusness’ in a deposition from a recent lawsuit.

The I Wonder rapper was previously sued by tech firm MyChannel in 2020, claiming that he broke the terms of his ‘oral partnership agreement’, and didn’t pay them.

In a sneak peek for a new A+E series, Interrogation Raw: Celebrities Under Oath, the 48-year-old – who is facing more legal issues – could be seen causing chaos as he faced questioning from lawyers.

When asked to raise his right hand, the dad-of-four put his arm up without looking up at the screen, before confirming that he was on his phone.

Attorney Michael Popok asked him to not use the device for the duration of deposition, leading him to question whether this was ‘legally what it should be’.

‘That is my ground rule for the deposition, consistent with California law, that you need to be present and focused on the examination, and not on a device,’ the lawyer replied.

‘Due to my mental geniusness, in order to focus on this bulls**t, I need to be on a phone,’ he hit back,

When his own legal team interjected, West then put his phone away, before swapping his cap for a face covering, telling Mr Popok: ‘You don’t have the right to see my face.’

Questioned over whether he would be wearing the mask for the entire duration of the deposition, he simply shrugged his shoulders and said: ‘Perhaps’.

In another video, the Grammy-winner refused to share where exactly he was appearing from, before exploding when asked what was in the room with him.

‘Are you stupid?,’ he spat. ‘You are talking to the richest Black person in the history of America.’

The footage has been released as part of Interrogation Raw: Celebrities Under Oath, which will premiere on A+E in the US on December 26 – it is not clear when the episode will air in the UK.

At the time, it was claimed that West ended the deposition after around 10 minutes.

He denied all wrongdoing at eventually reached a deal with MyChannel (Picture: Getty)

MyChannel lawyer, Ben J Meiselas, told AllHipHop.com: ‘West’s bad faith efforts to sabotage the deposition will be viewed by the Court as one of the most outrageous and inappropriate deposition performances it has observed as well.’

According to PageSix, the MyChannel team were reportedly seeking $20million in damages and a jury trial against West – claiming that he failed to provide a promised investment.

The Grammy-winner denied any wrongdoing before both parties reached a deal in 2021.

Interrogation Raw: Celebrities Under Oath will premiere on A+E on December 26.
