Dermot O’Leary was left beyond baffled to a blunder Josie Gibson made about a viewer’s cancer diagnosis on This Morning.
The former I’m A Celebrity star, 39, is filling in for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on the ITV daytime programme this week alongside former X Factor host Dermot.
On today’s episode, they treated viewers to the daily Spin to Win, but after one caller rung in, Dermot was left stunned.
Viewer Barry entered the competition and won an impressive £1000, leaving him overjoyed as he realised.
And it was certainly a treat he deserved, having just returned home from hospital amid a bladder cancer diagnosis.
‘You’ve won £1000 Barry, what are you going to spend it on!’ Josie told him.

Barry replied: ‘That made my day, I’ve just been to hospital with bladder cancer.’
While Dermot replied with a sympathetic response, Josie, who clearly hadn’t heard, said: ‘Aw, Barry, lovely.’
Her co-host looked at her with a baffled expression, stunned by what she’d said.
As Josie moved on, asking Barry if he had anyone with him, the line seemed to break up, with the hosts wishing him Merry Christmas before the end of the segment.

Just moments before, Josie reminded Barry that this was a ‘live television show’, while Dermot held back his hysterics.
But some fans have picked up on Josie’s blunder, as the clip was shared on social media.
‘Oh my god,’ @realseanslater said, while @BernyPol wrote: ‘Tragic.’
Defending Josie, @AndyGibsonTV wrote: ‘Like the rest of us, I don’t think Josie quite heard what the contestant was saying. I think she guessed he might have said something nice and went from there. It took me a few video plays to hear he said cancer.’
One called the interaction ‘shocking’, while several others picked up on Dermot’s face.

This comes after Josie addressed rumours that she was leaving This Morning earlier this year.
‘Alreeet lovers, Just to confirm, I have not left @thismorning I keep getting asked why I’ve left, so I thought it’s easier to clear up the rumour mill on here,’ she told her Instagram followers.
‘I am eternally grateful for all your love and support and I can not thank you enough. JG #squashingrumours.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
