Hear’Say shot to fame in the early 00s with their hot hits becoming noughties anthems, but 23 years later, you’ll struggle to recognise one of the group’s stars.
In 2001, the British pop world changed for the better after we were introduced to Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, and Noel Sullivan, also known as Hear’Say.
The group were formed on the hit ITV show, Popstars and quickly became the faces of pop music, releasing hits including Pure and Simple, The Way to Your Love and Everybody.
Pure and Simple was a huge success, selling over 500,000 copies in its first week and over one million that year, making it the fastest-selling debut single of all time in the UK at the time, before it was overtaken by Shaggy’s It Wasn’t Me, which sold 80,000 more in 2001.
Hear’Say also earned four UK Top 40 singles, and their debut album reached the top of the charts; their rapid rise was unfortunately followed by a fall, which happened as fast, if not faster.
Just one year after topping the charts, they announced they were disbanding, with Polydor, the group’s record label, telling fans: ‘they had lost the support of the public and Hear’Say had come to a natural end.’

While most of the members have gone on to pursue careers in the spotlight, one hasn’t, and a recent image shows just how different a turn his life has taken since the band’s glory days.
Taking to Instagram, Danny, who is now 45, shared a video of himself performing a yoga routine, and he looked more relaxed than ever.
The former pop star appears to have incorporated quieter, more zen hobbies into his life, with his social media page, Mr Danny Foster, dedicated to sharing his ‘life of wellbeing’, which includes yoga, meditation, manifesting and spreading positive energy.
Married to Victoria Goddard, the pair often collaborate on videos and have earned praise from Danny’s former bandmates, including Suzanne, who commented under one video: ‘So amazing you are sharing your knowledge!’
The couple also founded the soul revue show Danny Foster & The Big Soul Corporation, which sees Danny, his wife and other talented musicians and dancers perform some of the classic songs of Soul & Motown.

While Danny seems to have taken on a slower pace of life, the same can’t be said for some of his former bandmates.
After the band, Myleene, 46, went on to pursue a television and radio career, presenting shows such as ITV’s Popstar to Operastar and BBQ Champ. She also appears as a regular panellist on ITV’s Loose Women as well as BBC’s The One Show.
As for Kym, 48, she went on to act and starred as the memorable Michelle Connor on Coronation Street, even winning a British Soap Award for best newcomer in 2007. More recently, she appeared in the reboot of the BBC school drama series Waterloo Road.
Suzanne, 43, also pursued acting and is now a respected musical theatre and West End performer, as well as starring as Eve Jenson in the beloved show Emmerdale.
Meanwhile, Noel, 44, has dabbled in musical theatre as well as acting on the small screen.
