The latest season of The Masked Singer is back on our screens, with a new batch of celebrities hiding underneath unique costumes.

The singing competition has been running since 2020, with previous winners including Nicola Roberts, Charlie Simpson and Danny Jones.

For those who have somehow missed tuning in to date, the format involves contestant’s being concealed underneath giant costumes as a panel of judges do their best to guess who they might be based on their performances and several cryptic clues.

On the premiere episode, six took to the stage – Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Snail, Spag Bol, Tattoo and Teeth.

Trying to uncover their identities were Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Maya Jama, who were also joined by guest judge Mo Farah.

A non-disclosure agreement also featured in the clue package, giving Hollywood vibes and suggesting huge secrecy

Their performance featured a very powerful, soulful voice, with Dressed Crab clearly having singing experience

Who could Dressed Crab on The Masked Singer be?

Jonathan believes Hollywood heavyweight Jamie Foxx is behind the mask.

Explaining his thinking, he said the American football helmet and reels of film related to the movie Any Given Sunday, while the gold coins clue could be linked to Jamie being the voice on Gold Digger.

Maya put forward Billy Porter’s name, explaining how he is a singer and actor.

The American star is also renowned for his flamboyance and fashion sense, fitting with the clues about style.

He also hosted a fashion competition alongside supermodel Gigi Hadid in America.

Meanwhile Davina suggested that Dressed Crab could be a Grammy winner, hence the Gregory Porter prediction, as he has been nominated for eight and won two.

Audiences at home are also on board with the guess, taking to X to declare that the American jazz musician certainly has the voice of Dressed Crab.

Stating that Gregory is ‘definitely’ behind the mask, viewers picked up on the fact that he used to be an American football player.

‘I think the Dressed Crab is Gregory Porter!’ Sarah posted on X.

‘Crab sounds so much like Gregory Porter,’ Nathaniel added.

The Masked Singer continues tomorrow at 6.30pm on ITV1.
