Eamonn Holmes hits back with furious response after GB News ‘sacking’ accusation-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

Eamonn Holmes has clapped back after an Instagram account claimed he ‘sat back and did nothing’ when Isabel Webster was axed from GB News.
The former This Morning presenter, 65, posted about his return to the broadcaster after the Christmas break today on social media.
He promised a ‘fresh, bright and different’ show with his new co-presenter Ellie Costello, 31.
However, Eamonn’s comments appeared to anger one of his 789K followers, who claimed: ‘Your mate got sacked for not being right wing enough and you sat back and did nothing. With friends like you…’
In response the broadcaster furiously hit back: ‘And u know nothing!
Isabel, 41, who joined GB News in 2021 after moving from Sky News has not publicly addressed her exit.

However, Eamonn reacted once news of her departure was made public on GB News’ X account.
They wrote: ‘@IsabelWebster_ has also departed GB News. She presented her final Breakfast show alongside @EamonnHolmes this morning. GBN Updates wishes her the best for the future.’
Eamonn replied: ‘Bye my girl x.’

Mark Dolan was also axed after three years at GB News.
He unexpectedly released a comment, informing fans that he’d already presented his last show.
Taking to X, Mark, 50, wrote: ‘STATEMENT GB News have made the decision to permanently relieve me of my duties at the channel. I will speak publicly about this in due course.’

Commenting on the shake-up, Head Of Programming and Talent on GB News Ben Briscoe said: ‘2024 has been a truly fantastic year for us. Not only are we regularly beating the other established news channels, but we are also making inroads against the big public service broadcaster terrestrial channels.
‘Our initiatives will allow us to build on this success with a renewed focus and ambition.’
Meanwhile, Eamonn indicated he’s hoping for a better 2025 after his recent health struggles.
He had a difficult year with mobility issues, as well as his split from Loose Women star Ruth Langsford after 14 years of marriage.

Eamonn previously said he was on ‘borrowed time’ and ‘not OK’, and has been pictured in public using crutches and in a wheelchair.
He posted on Instagram to mark the New Year and a follower, David Patterson, commented: ‘Great film. Hope 2025 will be kind to you!’
Eamonn responded with three prayer emoji.
