Lily Allen tearfully discussed the ‘loneliness’ she feels when going through hard times amid her David Harbour split.

Music icon Lily, 39, and builder and decorator Sam, 46, tied the knot in 2011 before welcoming daughters Marnie, 12, and Ethel, 11. Lily also gave birth to their son in 2010, who was stillborn.

They split in 2018, with Lily going on to marry Stranger Things star David, 49, the following year.

Last month, sources shared that the couple had split after a profile for Lily was found on the dating app Raya.

Speaking on her podcast with Miquita Oliver, Smile hitmaker Lily has opened up on how, when previously going through difficult times, she felt she could open up to people and she ‘didn’t want it to end up in the papers’, possibly referencing her first marriage breakdown.

‘When I’m feeling lonely I cannot do the text,’ she told Miquita during the latest episode of Miss Me?.

‘I just feel like when I’m feeling low and lonely, I feel like a burden. I don’t want to offload my s**t onto other people.

‘I feel like, “It’s OK, you can handle this, you can do this, you’ll get through this and then you’ll be back, and then you’ll be fun Lily again”.’

She then became teary as she opened up on her past, saying: ‘I think, also, there is, like, trauma from the noughties in that, when things were bad, or I felt guilt or shame around things that I didn’t want to tell people because I didn’t want it to end up in the papers…I feel like I can’t be honest about what’s going on in my life sometimes.’

While she did not attribute her tears to her alleged split from David, fans in the comment section were quick to make the connection.

After quashing rumours that they had gone their separate ways earlier this year, Lily was spotted on the dating app Raya in December.

An insider since claimed the musician was left in ‘agony’ after discovering her husband had been active on the app for a month prior.

They went on to allege Lily’s profile was set up to be ‘looking for women’ in order to find the women her husband may have been speaking to on the app.

‘Lily was looking for women that were on Raya and cross-referencing them with women David follows on Instagram to try to figure out who he was seeing. She was doing her Wagatha thing,’ a source told Mail On Sunday.

The title was a reference to the infamous Wagatha Christie trial between WAGs Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, in which the former found the latter had been leaking stories about her to the media.

The source continued to tell the news outlet: ‘Lily only rejoined Raya to try to figure out whether he was seeing someone.

‘Lily has never even looked at anyone since she met David. She is devastated. He broke up with Lily a month ago. He was meant to be on holiday with her in Kenya over Christmas.’

Neither Lily nor David has publicly announced their rumoured breakup; however, it appears they spent both Christmas and New Year’s apart and the actress alluded to a ‘solo’ festive season on her podcast recently.

Metro has contacted representatives for Lily Allen and David Harbour for comment.
