The Traitors star Armani Gouveia has spoken out after being banished as a contestant from the BBC gameshow on Friday night.

Named as a Traitor from the outset, Armani set about enacting her gameplan – to be as confident and outspoken as possible in order to throw the Faithfuls off the scent.

Entering the contest with her sister Maia, Armani believed the two siblings would be an unstoppable force – even if Maia didn’t know Armani was a Traitor.

However, it all came crashing down when Armani’s plan to be confident and outspoken clashed with fellow Traitors Linda and Minah’s plan to be subtle and cunning.

In one of the most dramatic roundtables in Traitors history, Maia then turned on Armani, confessing to the table that she ‘doubted’ whether her sister was a Faithful.

It all meant that Armani was banished from the competition on day three, leaving Linda and Minah behind with almost 20 Faithfuls still trying to suss them out.

Speaking to This Morning, she’s now admitted that she knew she was done for when Maia abandoned their original plan to work together to turf Armani out.

‘I knew it was the end of me,’ she said, recalling the fatal roundtable interaction. ‘She said [she was] 60% [sure I was a Traitor] – you stab me once, and then you twist it in!

‘We did [have a game plan]. She forgot. She would take one side of the room, I would take the other, and then we could come back and give our information to each other.’

Despite sealing her fate on the show, Armani says she still hopes Maia wins – if only so she can share the thousands of pounds in prize money at the end.

‘Obviously, I would love my sister to win and then give me back half the money!’

Asked whether she would play the Traitors game differently with hindsight, Armani admitted: ‘I want to say that I would, but I don’t know if I could – that’s the problem really.’

Prior to Armani’s banishment, the night before it was the turn of Elen Wyn to leave the competition – banished despite being a Faithful.

The Cardiff native, whose first language is Welsh, admitted that she sometimes struggled to communicate in English and that it may have been the reason for her downfall.

Speaking to Metro about her time on the show, she said: ‘I lack confidence interacting with English-speaking people anyway, and having that lack of confidence in an environment that intense just magnified it.’

She continued: ‘I think I’d be better at [a Welsh-language version] because I can communicate better in Welsh. I don’t think I’d do it again in English.’

‘[I tell] people that I struggle, and they say, “What are you talking about?” I was just too paranoid, thinking that because English is my second language, that’s gonna be a huge disadvantage to me – I’m just hard on myself.’
