The Traitors fans are convinced they’ve spotted a secret familial link among the cast of the 2024 series… and it seems like it could be true.
There have only been three episodes so far of the gripping murder mystery reality game, hosted by the delightfully camp Claudia Winkleman, but it already has viewers on the edge of their seats.
In the very first episode, three contestants were supposedly axed from the programme before they even reached the castle, and then it was revealed that three powerhouse women had been chosen as this year’s inaugural Traitors.
One of the Traitors, Armani Gouveia, revealed at the very start of the competition that she was taking part with her sister, Maia Gouveia. However, they might not be the only relatives trying to win the jackpot prize.
Some sleuthing fans reckon they’ve spotted another pair of players who might actually have a connection outside of the castle.
Lisa Coupland, 62, is an Anglican priest from Cornwall, although she hasn’t revealed her profession to the other members of the cast as of yet.

Alex Oleksy, 29, is a care manager from Whitby, who revealed that he watched the first season of The Traitors with his mother-in-law, who reckoned that he’d do well in the game.
So what if these two aren’t complete strangers, but… family?

Speculating on Reddit, a user named Zealousideal_Toe106 wrote in a post: ‘These two have to be related, surely?’ alongside pictures of them.
In the comments, several people agreed with this theory.
‘I saw a comment on Reddit last week saying they are the only two contestants whose social media is private (haven’t fact checked that myself); if that is the case I’d say this is a great shout,’ dsilva_21 remarked.

‘That was me, and I’ve just checked again, and Lisa’s is now public – but the number of people she follows has dropped from 110 (last week) to 84 (this week). Alex’s is still private,’ The-Many-Faced-God responded.
Another user called No_Pineapple9166 wrote: ‘There’s definitely another relationship reveal to come and this is a fair shout.’
‘I did think they looked very similar in terms of facial structure. Not sure if it’ll end up being the case but it would be a good twist,’ commented RealmJumper15.

Mrandymoz added: ‘Wow, there is a real likeness there for sure that I hadn’t noticed. Good shout.
‘Production know people are looking out for this sort of thing now, and (apart from their faces) everything else about these two is so different it makes sense as a choice.’
So could this be the case? We can’t wait to find out.
Although, it’ll be extremely hard to top the golden moment when season two’s Diane Carson revealed that Ross Carson was her son, with her infamous line: ‘But Ross is,’ when people began to suspect that she was Paul Gorton’s mum.
Ah The Traitors… it’s just the show that keeps on giving.
The Traitors returns tonight at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
