Coleen Rooney has opened up about the moment she was close to ‘walking away’ from I’m A Celebrity.

The Wagatha Christie icon, 38, lasted all 23 days in the jungle, and came in second place to McFly singer Danny Jones.

Along the way, she brought us plenty of entertainment, from spilling the tea on her life with Wayne and their four children in their £20,000,000 mansion, to branding Donald Trump a ‘dirty b*****d’.

But there was one point she was close to quitting the jungle, despite close bonds she formed with the likes of Oti Mabuse and GK Barry.

Speaking on The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, she said: ‘Going on I’m A Celebrity was to challenge myself. I’ve been asked year after year, and I’ve always said no because the kids were too young, and I had other stuff going on in life.

‘It’s the one show that I’ve always said if I were to do any show, it would be that because I’ve watched it for years and loved it. So, I thought why not? And I’m glad I did.’

She went on: ‘A few days in I thought, what am I doing here? I thought that I could walk. I was sitting there, and I had all these big characters singing and dancing around me and I was thinking, what am I going to bring to this show? I’m just me.

‘There were certain conversations going on, and my Dad told me not to swear when I went in there, but they were all talking about sex and everything else and I was thinking, “I can’t do this, I need to go and walk away,” and you just think, this isn’t me.

‘But as it went on and I got to know them as individuals, it got better.’

Coleen, who earned a reported £5million for her stint in the jungle, proved to be a fan-favourite, earning 45% of the final vote.

But it wasn’t an easy journey for her, as she recently revealed her health struggles also made her consider quitting.

‘A few days in I was thinking “”What have I signed up for? What am I doing here?”,’ she previously said on Good Morning Britain.

She added: ‘And then the headaches set in. Obviously withdrawal from caffeine, sugar, and alcohol.

‘And then the hunger, because we didn’t get the stars in the first week.’

‘We were limited on food and the hunger was real,’ she added, continuing: ‘The first week was a struggle.’

It has since been said she could continue her success after winning the hearts of the nation with a tell-all memoir, or even a Netflix documentary.

Teasing what we can expect from her this year after all the rumoured projects, including an ITV deal, she told GMB: ‘I’m looking forward to Christmas and then in January I will sit down with my team and see what I’m going to do going forward.’
