Dragons’ Den viewers have quipped Steven Bartlett was ‘destroyed’ after being slammed for sharing health misinformation.
The entrepreneur and podcaster, 32, is the founder of the social media marketing company Social Chain and hosts The Diary of a CEO podcast.
In 2021 he then joined the BBC business series, which gives other entrepreneurs the opportunity to seek investments from the panel.
The series returned to screens last night, with one of the pitches coming from cousins and co-founders Issa and Ash Patel who started their vitamin and supplement company Diso 18 months ago.
Targeting a ‘rapidly growing global vitamins and supplement market in a novel way’, they were seeking £100,000 in return for 2.5% equity.
The pair, who have a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry between them, explained how their supplements dissolved in people’s mouth and was vegan and sugar free.

They’ve already achieved over £270,000 in sales and are stocked in Boots, WH Smith and Holland Barrett.
Questioned by Dragon Sara Davies about whether there was science-based evidence to back their product, the pair spoke about the clinical studies currently underway.
After they were told their experience was ‘impressive’ Ash also made a comment that left some viewers amused.
‘Coming from a background in regulated industries in healthcare, we are very aware of not making claims that are not backed by real science,’ he said.

The camera then cut to Steven blinking and looking to the side.
‘”We’re very aware of not making claims that are not backed by real science”. Shot cuts to Steven Bartlett. Hilarious,’ Neil posted on X.
‘Dragons’ Den just destroyed Steven Bartlett in the edit,’ Danny shared.
‘Hahaha his face…’ user MiniVara added.
Their comments come after Steven came under fire last month for spreading ‘harmful health misinformation’ on his podcast.

He was accused of platforming disproven claims including that cancer can be treated by a keto diet and anti-vaccine conspiracy theories.
In response, a spokesperson for Bartlett said each episode was ‘thoroughly researched’, while the guests are afforded ‘freedom of expression.’
During the Dragons Den segment, Steven told the cousins he thought their product looked like condoms and later decided not to invest, saying their products were ‘not innovative or different’.
The panel also all said the fact the product had stuck to the roof of their mouths put them off and advised the pair to continue working on development as it had potential.
Metro has contacted representatives for Steven Bartlett for comment.
Dragons’ Den airs Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One.
