Jeremy Kyle is set to return to ITV for a grilling, five years after his daytime show was axed.

The TalkTV presenter, 59, famously fronted The Jeremy Kyle Show from 2005 to 2019, hosting 3,320 episodes and tackling relationship issues, from cheating scandals to drug use.

His hugely popular, yet controversial, programme was scrapped following the death of a guest named Steve Dymond, who took his own life.

Just one week earlier, the 63-year-old filmed for the show and failed a lie detector test.

After his sudden departure from ITV, it has now been reported that Kyle will be back on the network for an episode of Kate Garraway’s Life Stories.

A source told The Sun that Kyle filmed with Good Morning Britain’s Garraway ‘this week’.

It’s believed he was ‘really open and honest about everything he’s been through.’

‘Everyone will be thrilled to see him back at ITV; it’s a really great episode,’ the insider added.

Life Stories was previously hosted by Piers Morgan. In October 2021, Garraway, 57, appeared as his final guest, and it was confirmed she would be replacing him.

Over the years, Morgan interviewed a plethora of stars, including Boy George, Gordon Brown, Simon Cowell, Katie Price, and Sharon Osbourne.

Since taking over, Garraway has quizzed the likes of Charlotte Church, Anton Du Beke, and Ruby Wax on the ups and downs of their personal lives and careers.

Meanwhile, last September, an inquest concluded there was no ‘clear and reliable causal connection’ between Dymond’s appearance on The Jeremy Kyle Show and his suicide.

Speaking out, Kyle spoke of the ‘huge toll’ the case had taken on him as an investigation was carried out.

A spokesperson said on his behalf: ‘His Majesty’s Coroner has today clearly and unequivocally found that Jeremy Kyle did not in any way cause or contribute to the tragic suicide of Steve Dymond.

‘He is now exonerated of that ill-informed accusation, and his name has finally been cleared.’

They added that Kyle chose not to discuss details of the tragedy while the legal inquest was ongoing. His spokesperson said Kyle ‘remained steadfastly silent in the face of lies, false accusations, and unfair criticism over the last 5 1/2 years.’

‘This has taken a huge toll on him and his family, and he would like to thank everyone who has truly supported him through these tough times,’ the statement concluded.

Speaking in court, Kyle defended his approach to Dymond, calling it ‘direct’ but also ’empathetic’ and ‘honest’.

However, Dymond’s son, Carl Woolley, said the ‘only good thing’ that had come from his father’s death was the cancellation of The Jeremy Kyle Show.

He also said that Kyle encouraged the crowd to ‘boo’ Dymond, claiming: ‘He was cast as the liar before he had even spoken.’

ITV later said in a statement it is ‘committed to continuing to evolve and strengthen the care’ of guests on its shows.

As for the rest of his career, Kyle joined TalkRadio Drivetime in 2021, and in April 2022, he announced his return to television to present a primetime show for TalkTV.

Regarding his personal life, he recently welcomed a baby with his second wife, Vicky Burton. He is now a dad of six.

He has praised Burton, who previously worked as a nanny for his older children, for being his ‘rock’ throughout the legal investigation into Dymond’s death.

Kyle told OK! that he had ‘a complete breakdown’ due to being an ‘easy target’ for public scrutiny.

‘It’s been five years of hell. But with the strength of this woman (Vicky), I’m on the other side,’ he said, describing the time as ‘horrific’.

Kyle added: ‘It was Vicky who dragged me out of bed. She saved me.

‘I’m not going to spend my life apologising for a show that 30,000 people came on and loved, and millions around the world watched.

‘There’s a very sad postscript, but it’s been proven that it wasn’t the show’s fault.’

ITV declined to comment.
