The latest episode of The Masked Singer has sent fans into a frenzy, with many convinced that they’ve already sussed the identity of Pufferfish.
The masked celebrity shocked the judges with an outstanding performance of Chappell Roan’s Good Luck Babe.
Now, eagle-eyed fans have reassessed the cryptic clues provided about thesinger, which has led them to speculate that a chart-topping musicsian could be behind the vibrant costume.
It’s… none other than pop sensation Katy Perry. So have viewers cracked the code already? Let’s analyse the hints in further detail.
In a post shared by No-Cheesecake4430 on Reddit, they pointed out that one interesting line went: ‘Don’t get me wrong, the Brits hold a special place in my heart too.’
Katy of course has multiple strong connections to the UK, as her fiancé is A-list British actor Orlando Bloom, and she was married to British comedian Russell Brand.

The clue “It runs in the family” has also intrigued fans as Katy’s siblings reportedly all have musical talents of their own – making it even more possible that the Roar singer could be hiding behind Pufferfish’s mask.
One of the clues, ‘Dazzled by all the stars’, caused Masked Singer viewers ears to prick up as it could be a reference Katy’s feature on 3OH!3’s song ‘Starstrukk’, which was one of the 40-year-old’s first collaborative hits.
Even the visual clues caused speculation with detective fans noticing a dice in the VT, which could be a hint towards the popstar’s infamous dice dress that she wore in 2009.

The boots on a chicken figure that was shown on the programme had fans drawing parallels to Katy’s footwear brand, which is called Katy Perry Collections.
Meanwhile, the chicken itself could be a nod to her viral moment when she hilariously stuffed seven chicken nuggets in her mouth during a Japanese TV appearance.
Some viewers have also reached that the chicken under her foot in the VT could reflect the chicken at the foot of the bed she’s in at the beginning of the music video for her hit song TGIF.
Reacting to the theory on Reddit, one user called SuppressTheInsolent remarked: ‘This feels like a big name for The Masked Singer but now you’ve said it I can really hear it…,’ insinuating that they believe Pufferfish does sound like Katy.

‘We got NeYo. So I reckon that it’s possible,’ midnighttheir commented, while SmugMiddleClarse added: ‘I just went onto ITVX and relistened. She does seem like too big of a name for this (as was Richie Sambora) but it really does sound like her. Hope you’re right!’
‘I can’t not hear this now, and there’s also the right level of tenuous links in the clues,’ OtherAssignment4869 also shared.
While the guesses remain unconfirmed, fans are fuelled with excitement, and many believe it’s only a matter of time before Pufferfish’s mask comes off to unveil one of the biggest pop princesses of this generation.
