After months of speculation, the WWE Raw debut of Penta El Zero Miedo has been confirmed in a bizarre WWE Shop update.

After last week’s Raw premiere on Netflix, fans have been expecting the mysterious and intimidating luchador to make his first appearance against Chad Gable on tonight’s episode.

Now, his signing has been confirmed after WWE Shop has updated with a banner highlighting the new star, with t-shirts and replica masks on sale.

‘Cero Miedo! For Penta, it’s not just a phrase,’ the description reads. ‘He has no fear of anything and is driven to be as aggressive as possible to reach his goals.’

For the last month or so, viewers have been treated to vignettes hyping up a new arrival on the red brand, and last week’s show all but confirmed it as ‘Penta’ appeared on screen.

Later in the show, it was confirmed Gable will have a mystery opponent after he asked Adam Pearce to find him ‘the single best luchador walking this planet’.

His impending arrival is just as exciting for the WWE roster as it is the fans, as Jey Uso recently admitted he would love to team up with his twin Jimmy to take on Penta and his brother Rey Fenix in the future.

Here’s everything you need to know about Penta.

There, he faced the likes of WWE stars Rey Mysterio, Ricochet and even Chelsea Green, while he eventually earned a big money move to All Elite Wrestling in 2019.

Also known as the Lucha Bros, Penta has teamed with his real life brother Rey Fenix extensively over the years, even forming the Death Triangle trio with PAC (formerly Neville in WWE).

Lucha Bros have also held gold in TNA Wrestling, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, Major League Wrestling and Ring of Honor.

Fenix isn’t joining his brother in WWE at this time, amid reports that AEW boss Tony Khan has added injury time onto the former’s contract, meaning he’s still with the rival promotion.

Penta’s vignettes on Raw

Last week, WWE all but confirmed the arrival of Penta (Picture: WWE)

For weeks now, fans have been getting excited about the arrival of Penta after a series of cryptic vignettes.

At first, the brief videos showed the zero symbol (a reference to his ring name), while subsequent clips featured a pentagram and a familiar looking mask design, as the pieces of the puzzle started falling into place.

Last week during the Raw debut on Netflix, the video ended with another artistic depiction of his luchador mask, which spelt out the word ‘Penta’.

The simple, honest answer is that we really don’t know.

In keeping with Mexican lucha libre culture, Penta has kept his personal details – including his real name and face – hidden from the public.

It’s unclear if that will change as he embarks on his WWE career, although it stands to reason he’d like to maintain the mystique.

Netflix is the home of WWE in the UK.
