Despite its 35% score on Rotten Tomatoes, Ad Vitam has soared through the Netflix top 10 earning a place at number 6.

If you are looking for 90 minutes of action to occupy your weekend, look no further than Netflix’s brand-new French action-thriller, Ad Vitam.

The French language film quietly appeared on the streaming site and has skyrocketed its way up the top 10.

Critics are raving about the brand-new movie’s ‘twists and turns’ and how it is ‘the best move you will have seen in a while.’

In the action-packed thriller Ad Vitam, a former counter-terrorism agent must face his past after his pregnant wife is abducted.

Racing against time, he faces a treacherous mission and uncovers a perilous conspiracy that could change everything.

The film is directed by Rodolphe Lauga and stars Guillaume Canet, Stéphane Caillard, and Nassim Lyes.

Guillaume Canet leads the cast as Franck, a member of the elite tactical police force National Gendarmerie Intervention Group, aka GIGN.

Franck must go on a mission through France to find his pregnant wife, Leo (Stéphane Caillard), who he met when they both worked for the GIGN. The couple were targeted after their house was ransacked twice and masked men then broke in and took Leo.

The French action-thriller is filled with gruesome fights and heart-stopping stunts – the violent masked men demand that Franck must ‘tell them what he knows’ or his wife will be killed.

As Franck searches for answers, he has to delve into his past – and the death of his friend and colleague, Nico (Alexis Manenti) – to unveil the truth.

’30mins into this movie AD VITAM and I’m still confused about what the plot is. I mean, the movie ends in 40mins.. why is it #2 on Netflix?’@iwateba said.

‘The first part consists of an embarrassingly empty flashback before a second part of limp action.’ @videovalentin added.

Ad Vitam is available to stream on Netflix now.
