Aerosmith are set to reunite for a special performance, just months after confirming their decision to stop touring.

The I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing rockers left fans devastated when they announced their retirement from concerts, after Steven Tyler sustained damage to his vocal cords during their Peace Out tour in 2023.

After bassist Tom Hamilton hinted at a possible reunion, while sharing an update on the 76-year-old’s health, it has been claimed that the group will be appearing together next month.

According to reports, they will be putting on a show at the frontman’s sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party.

Billboard reports that Steven, Tom and Joe Perry are expected to perform at the charity event on February 2, held at the Hollywood Palladium.

It is not clear whether Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford will be joining their bandmates at the bash.

The event will support non-profit organization Janie’s Fund – which helps young women and girls who have suffered abuse – and will also help the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Widows, Orphans, and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund, amid the ongoing wildfires.

‘What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable,’ Steven said.

‘Music has healing powers and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires.

‘The trauma experienced by the girls we work with is also unthinkable and we will continue to shed light and support the amazing work of Janie’s Fund.’

As well as Aerosmith, a host of other names will be taking to the stage at the fundraiser, including Billy Idol, Joan Jett and Linda Perry.

Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Kelsey Grammer, Lionel Richie, Scarlett Johansson, Flavor Flav, Andrea Bocelli, Jane Lynch, Ashlee Simpson and Alice Cooper are among the many co-chairs.

Aerosmith formed in the 1970s and have barely left the spotlight since, blessing us with songs including Hole In My Soul, Amazing, Crazy and Sweet Emotion.

Steven’s appearance comes after he kept a low profile in the wake of his health issues.

The musician ‘sustained vocal cord damage that led to subsequent bleeding’ shortly into the group’s 2023 Peace Out Farewell tour.

At the time, he shared that he had received strict orders from his doctors, who urged him not to sing for the next month – but, in a statement 10 months later, the group revealed that his recovery ‘is not possible’, meaning that they would retire from touring altogether.

In an interview earlier this month, Tom shed light on the future of the group, while also giving an update on how his bandmate’s recovery is coming along.

During an appearance on Boston radio station WBUR, the 73-year-old announced: ‘Steven’s healing process is going really, really well, but it goes at its own pace.

‘Maybe Aerosmith will do something in the future, but it’s a big “if”, and the last thing I want to be doing is to try and push Steven in that direction.

‘If we do anything in the future, it would come from him.’

Although he’s hopeful of a reunion, Tom previously dashed hopes of a full tour last August, while speaking to AARP.

When asked about his hopes to reunite on a scale from 1 to 10, he said: ‘On the hope scale, I’m somewhere between 7 and 9.

‘We won’t be doing any tours from now on, but I’ll always have hope that other types of opportunities will come along.

‘This isn’t the first time black clouds have been on our horizon — and somehow the sun managed to come out.

‘Time and hope are all we have at the moment.’

‘I have doubts that there are any more in the future,’ he added of suggestions for another Las Vegas residency.
