The Frasier reboot could have some life in it yet after the revival was abruptly cancelled after two seasons.
The iconic sitcom, which starred Kelsey Grammer, 69, as Dr Frasier Crane, returned in 2023 before a second series followed last year, but Paramount+ decided to scrap the show before a third season.
The sequel series saw Only Fools And Horses legend Nicholas Lyndhurst as university professor Alan, and the British actor is reportedly keen to work on another instalment.
‘The early episodes were a little shaky but they improved very quickly,’ an insider close to the 63-year-old star told The Sun.
‘It takes time for the writers and actors playing the characters to really interact, and the second series saw that begin to pay off.
‘The writers knew who they were writing for and it got even better, so Nick and Kelsey and all involved would want the series to continue given the amount of creativity expended.’

The revival saw Frasier back in Boston (Picture: Chris Haston/Paramount+)
The revival followed Frasier in the next chapter of his life as he returned to Boston, Massachusetts, with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.
It also starred Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son, Freddy, Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department, Jess Salgueiro as Eve and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew, David.
Despite a stuttering start, co-showrunner Chris Harris was pleased with how the sitcom started to find its feet at the first season went on.

‘The first season for every show is about finding the characters and seeing, “Oh, we thought this character was here, but it’s actually over there.” Or, “we thought that these two had a sniping relationship, but it’s one of mutual respect,”‘ he told The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Our show was not one of the few shows that came out of the gate knowing exactly what every character was, like the original Frasier. But for the most part, that first season, we feel good about having found where the show is. And here we got to dive in more.’
Kelsey, who described Nicholas as ‘most talented actor’ he’s worked with, previously revealed he wanted to do ‘another 100 episodes’ of the sitcom.
‘I want to do another 100 episodes at least. Whether we get there sooner rather than later, I don’t know,’ he told the Toronto Sun.

‘We could get there in four years if they wanted to, but we don’t need to. If they want to spread it out a little longer, that’s fine with me.
‘I think he’s going to be relevant and interesting because I intend to stay that way.’
Metro has contacted representatives for Frasier, Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Lyndhurst for comment.
The Frasier revival is available to stream on Paramount+.
