WWE is entering a new era with the 2025 Royal Rumble at the heart of all the action.

The iconic premium live event, which was first held in 1992, is back this weekend for its 38th instalment as one of the most unpredictable nights of the year comes to the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

As well as being a special night for fans around the world, it will also mark the first ever PLE to air live on Netflix as part of WWE’s $5billion move.

Both the men’s and women’s Rumbles look stacked with potential for plenty of surprises, while everyone from CM Punk and Roman Reigns to Charlotte Flair and Bayley will be in action.

There are also two huge championship matches on the lineup, with plenty to look forward to as WWE kicks off the Road to WrestleMania 41.

Here is everything you need to know about this weekend’s massive show.

The Royal Rumble is almost impossible to predict, but this year feels especially tough to call.

Even with only half the field confirmed, the men’s Rumble has several possible winners, with John Cena, CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn all in with a shout.

For surprise entrants, the AJ Styles, Omos and Randy Orton could return in the bout, while legends like Mick Foley, X-Pac and The Rock are possibilities.

The TNA Wrestling partnership means Matt and Jeff Hardy, Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) and viral sensation Joe Henry could all show up.

Last year saw the return of Andrade, while Pat McAfee also made an appearance along with NXT’s Bron Breakker – so don’t fans shouldn’t expect more than a couple of surprises.

On the women’s side, Charlotte Flair is an immediate favourite to win, while Bianca Belair could become a two-time winner to set up a dream match with Rhea Ripley.

In terms of surprises, the legendary AJ Lee is the name most fans are hoping for, along with former rival Nikki Bella.

Jordynne Grace – who was a surprise entrance last year – seems a shoe-in after leaving TNA recently, and could even win if WWE wants to go all-in, while NXT’s Roxanne Perez could receive similar treatment.

In terms of returns, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss and Asuka have all been speculated in recent weeks.

As for the rest of the card, Motor City Machine Guns should retain the gold from #DIY in an explosive match, while Kevin Owens could upset Cody Rhodes in a move that would turn WrestleMania plans on their head.

When is WWE coming to the UK?

WWE will be back in the UK on the Road to WrestleMania with some huge shows as the company brings the Road To WrestleMania to Europe, with a few weeks of Raw and SmackDown leading up to the huge show taking place outside North America for the first time.

As part of that run, WWE is returning to The O2 for SmackDown and Raw on March 28 and 31, which will both air live on Netflix with stars like GUNTHER, Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes and more already advertised.

Tickets are on sale for both nights, including for individual shows.
