Janelle Monae made it crystal clear how she felt about Nelly’s Donald Trump inauguration performance.
The Tightrope singer’s brutal takedown came after Sunday night’s Grammys afterparty where she launched a savage verbal attack at the rapper – with a rendition of his club classic Hot in Herre.
In footage obtained by TMZ, Janelle, 39, alongside singer Anderson .Paak freestyled: ‘F**k you Nelly. I used to like Nelly, but then he went to perform for Donald Trump.
She rapped: ‘I care about women, I care about Hispanics. … You sold out. I used to think you were cool. But now you look like a mother*****g fool.’
Nelly – real name Cornell Iral Haynes Jr – previously sparked controversy over his decision to perform at Trump’s inauguration alongside the likes of Carrie Underwood, and Billy Ray Cyrus.
The 50-year-old rapper previously defended his decision to perform at the festivities, saying ‘the things you do’ are more important than ‘the things you say should be done’.

‘I didn’t know that I had to agree with your political choices. If you follow what I do, this shouldn’t even be an argument. He is the president. He won,’ Nelly argued.
‘I’m not doing this for money. I’m doing this because it’s an honour. I respect the office. It don’t matter who is in office.’
Janelle isn’t the only artist to throw shade at those who performed at the inauguration.
Ariana Grande reportedly liked a post mocking Carrie’s performance of America the Beautiful.

The singer, 41, faced technical difficulties that forced her to finish the song acapella in front of the massive crowd.
Shortly after, Instagram user Evan Ross Katz posted a photo of the former American Idol winner singing with Kamala Harris making a pained expression in the background.
‘Kamala Harris evoking Coco Montrese (“Girl, find the note”) watching Carrie Underwood at today’s chilling Inauguration,’ Katz captioned the post, referencing a RuPaul’s Drag Race episode where contestant Montrese mocked another contestant’s vocal performance.
According to the Independent, the Wicked superstar, 31, liked the post on January 20, though the like was removed the following day.
