First reactions to a highly-anticipated TV reboot have come flooding in, with fans raving over the ‘spectacular’ return for the gritty show that was axed on Netflix seven years ago.
Almost a decade ago in 2015, Marvel fans were introduced to Charlie Cox’s portrayal of blind lawyer Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, for the first time.
The series about the crime-fighting vigilante was hailed one of the greatest superhero adaptations of all time, running for three seasons until 2018 before it was cancelled by the streaming giant, leaving viewers in despair.
Over the years, comic book aficionados haven’t lost hope that it could return… and now finally, in 2025, it has been resurrected in the revival Daredevil: Born Again on Disney Plus.
While there’s still over a week to go until its launch, some lucky people had the chance to watch the first two episodes in advance… and it’s safe to say that initial responses have been off the charts.
One big worry that fans had for the Born Again revival was whether it would match the original Netflix show’s grittiness – considering the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t typically reach those same levels of bloody violence.

Fortunately, many now feel reassured that the no-holds-barred brutality of the Daredevil TV show is not being brushed aside, following Matt’s cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk.
‘Daredevil: Born Again is gritty, ruthless and unforgivably bloody! Fans of the original series are in for a treat, echoing the first season’s intensity and rage,’ @AJGaliardi wrote on X.
‘Saw the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again and it pulls no punches. Some bold choices are made in the first 10 minutes that I hope this story lands cause if not.. hoo boy. Would love to see more street level adult storytelling from Marvel,’ commented @bjntweets.

Another X user called @dbapz called the show a ‘powerful reintroduction to Marvel’s most complex and scourged character’.
Praising lead star Charlie and Vincent D’Onofrio, who stars as the fearsome antagonist Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, they continued: ‘Cox and D’Onofrio take their rightful place in the MCU and set the stage for the darkest and most brutal chapter yet.’
An elated fan called @bigscreenleaks said that the opening two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again gave them ‘an adrenaline rush unlike anything I’ve felt from the MCU in a long time’.

‘Being back in this world feels so good and you can feel the love everyone involved has for the Netflix series,’ they said.
‘Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio slip into their roles again effortlessly, and Michael Gandolfini is a scene-stealer. The action is brutal and excellently choreographed from top to bottom. It’s truly a spectacle. This is a major win for Marvel Studios and season two can’t come soon enough!’
Following the torrent of praiseworthy reactions, other fans who haven’t seen the first two episodes yet could barely contain their excitement.
‘All the early reviews saying Daredevil: Born Again is even better than the Netflix series, we win,’ said @buckysstevens, while @CMMedia23 remarked: ‘All the Daredevil: Born Again first reactions makes me so happy like we might already be back.’
With the first two episodes set to be released in one go, we’re sure many fans across the globe would say that the launch date couldn’t come soon enough.
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Wednesday March 5 on Disney Plus in the UK.
