Sabrina Carpenter has seemingly alluded to her breakup with Barry Keoghan while performing in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland.
The 25-year-old pop performed in the Irish city on Monday night and used the opportunity to take a cheeky swing at her Saltburn actor ex.
Speaking to the crowd at Dublin’s 3Arena, Sabrina said that Irish boys are ‘hard work,’ drawing a knowing laugh from the crowd.
The dig came before the popstar launched into her hit song Please, Please, Please, which is widely believed to have been written about her relationship with Barry.
‘Dublin, it’s so lovely to be here. You all look and sound amazing,’ the superstar said, and then: ‘But my goodness, these Irish boys are hard work.’
Barry also stars as Sabrina’s love interest in the music video for Please, Please, Please.

The pair were first linked in 2023 but kept their relationship relatively private for sometime.
Then, in May 2024, they posed on the Met Gala red carpet together and Sabrina sung Barry’s praises in new interviews ahead of her album release and world tour.
It was then reported that the pair had split in December 2024 after about a year together, it was also rumoured that Barry’s partying habits had caused the rift.
The breakup came not long after Sabrina dodged Rolling Stone’s interrogation on whether Barry was her boyfriend, replying with: ‘How do I skirt around this question?’, refusing to put a label to it.

Soon, rumours of cheating swirled around the Banshees of Inersherin star, causing him him to face so much scrutiny from fans that he deleted his Instagram account and then took to X to post a statement begging fans to stop harassing him online.
He said that ‘the messages I have received no person should ever have to read them’ and claimed people have been ‘knocking on his grannies door’ and ‘sitting outside my baby boys house intimidating them.’
The statement read in full: ‘I can only sit and take so much. My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don’t respond too.

‘I have to respond now because it’s gettin to a place where there are too many lines being crossed. I deactivated my account because I can no longer let this stuff distract from my family and my work. The messages I have received no person should ever have to read them. Absolute lies, hatred, disgusting commentary about my appearance, character, how I am as a parent and every other inhumane thing you can imagine.
‘Dragging my character and everything I worked extremely hard for and stand for. Talking about how I was a heroine baby and how I grew up and dragging my dear mother into it also. Knocking on my grannies door.
Sitting outside my baby boys house intimidating them. Thats crossing a line.

‘Each and every day I work harder to push myself on every level to be the healthiest and strongest person for that boy. I want to provide opportunities for him to learn, fail and grow. I want him to be able to look up to his daddy, to have full trust in me and know I will have his back no matter what.
‘I need you to remember he has to read ALL of this about his father when he is older. Please be respectful to all. Thank u x’
With the exception of her onstage comment, Sabrina has been silent about the controversy.
